Scent Responsibly with Old Spice Re-fresh Body Sprays

This post is written by the Experimental Mommy. While I was compensated for my time and effort, all opinions remain 100% mine.

At my last job, I was working in a male dominated field.  Each morning when entering the elevator to go to my lab, I knew if one particular Scientist was already in the building…and not because I could see him.  An apparent victim of cologne over-spraying, he left a scent trail that lasted for several minutes.

To better understand the root of the overspraying issue among guys in the U.S., Old Spice enlisted leading youth market research firm YPulse to survey more than 2,000 guys and girls (ages 13-25), as well as 1,000 moms of teenage boys across the country. They found that the overspraying issue is real:

  • 3 out of 4 young guys and 83 percent of young females admit overspraying is an issue.
  • 72 percent of moms think overspraying is an issue, but only 26 percent think their sons are guilty of the offense.
  • Nearly 70 percent of guys revealed they weren’t taught how to properly apply Body Spray.
  • 45 percent of young guys said they reapply Body Spray because they thought their scent was fading.

With the release of the new Old Spice Refresh Body Sprays, Old Spice is taking a proactive approach to helping guys “scent responsibly” and end the overspraying epidemic once and for all.  Available in three collections, Wild, Fresh and Red Zone, the scent lasts all day so there is no need to reapply.  Check out the following video to learn how to “scent responsibly“:

  1. Angie Knutson says:

I have a nine-year-old that has frequent over spraying issues! Can’t wait to let him try some of the new Old Spice Refresh Body Spray!

  2. OK, as a former 8th grade teacher, I can only say “THANK YOU!!!” though I wish this came out a few years ago. Would have helped save my nose!! 🙂

  3. Ha! Leave it to Old Spice to add some creative marketing to tackle a real problem in a funny way. There are many people with a super sensitive nose and it makes for an awkward conversation to address it! Thanks for sharing!

  4. My husband uses Old Spice but he a responsible scenter LOL!

  5. “Supermodels love my face” – lol – hilarious. Now I know what to tell my boys when they get older.
