Fiber and Fun: Great Reasons to Love Your Cereal {Giveaway}

This post is brought to you by Kellogg’s and The Motherhood, and I’ve been compensated for my time. However, all opinions are my own.

With two girls in elementary school and a full time job to get ready for, our mornings can be quite hectic.  It’s not getting dressed or packing school bags that slows us down….it’s breakfast.  After I finally get the girls out of the bed and somewhat coherent, I try to decipher what they want to eat for breakfast.

Do you want yogurt and fruit?  No.  Let’s do eggs and biscuits, OK?  No.  Do you want a smoothie and granola?  No.  How about cereal?  YES!

Inevitably,  they will choose cereal so our pantry is generally stocked with a few different varieties.  Did you know that 9 out of 10 children don’t get enough fiber in their diets which can lead to irregularity?  Kellogg’s knows it’s important to kick off your day with a fiber containing breakfast in order to help get the recommended amount throughout the day. That’s why they offer more ready-to-eat cereals that are a good source of fiber (3 grams) than any other U.S. food company.

Fortunately, my kids’ favorite cereals such as Kellogg’s Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks and Mini-Wheats are packed with between 3-6 grams of fiber per serving.  I love this breakfast option because it is easy and fast, my kids don’t complain about it, and it is an excellent source of fiber!

Kids happy.  Mom happy.  Perfect.

Could your family use some extra fiber in their diets?  Enter below to win a Kellogg’s Love Your Cereal prize pack including boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks, a cereal bowl and spoon, a bento box for meals on the go, a fun game to teach kids about the MyPlate nutrition guidelines, and a Toucan Sam plush toy.

  1. We add fiber to our diet by eating beans, whole grains and tons of fruit & veggies. Frosted Mini-wheats is one of my favorite cereals! Thanks for such a great and very tasty giveaway!

  2. We do so by eating a number of items that contain whole grains along with giving my children fiber gummies.

  3. We try to make well-balanced meals, but we don’t currently do anything to add additional fiber specifically.

  4. We eat a lot of cereal in this house. Lately my husband has been asking me to buy the fiber one bars also.
    Thanks

  5. I add fiber to my family’s diet by cooking with whole grains whenever that is an option and buying snack foods make with whole grains or added fiber.

  6. We eat high fiber cereals and a lot of whole wheat in things such as bread and pasta.
