Cirque du Soliel’s Quidam Comes to New Orleans

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved the circus.  On my honeymoon to Walt Disney World, my new husband and I decided to check out what we thought was “just a circus” at Downtown Disney called La Nouba.  What we witnessed was far from any circus I had ever seen and we were both mesmerized.

This Cirque du Soleil production was full of energy and magic without the dancing poodles and lion tamers.  In fact, Cirque du Soleil didn’t have any animals at all. About the organization:

From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is now a major Quebec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 performing artists from close to 50 different countries. Cirque du Soleil has brought wonder and delight to more than 100 million spectators in more than 300 cities in over forty countries on six continents.

I am so excited that Cirque du Soleil is coming to New Orleans with their production of Quidam which had its world premiere in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996.  Since that time, the production has toured on five continents and been experienced by millions of people. The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters.

If you would like to experience Quidam, it will be performed at the New Orleans Arena from March 13-17, 2013 (seven nights only!).  Tickets for the general public are available on www.cirquedusoleil.com/quidam, by phone at 1 800 -745-3000 or in person at the New Orleans Arena Box Office.

Follow the action on Twitter using hashtag #quidam or on Facebook!

This post is the opinion of the Experimental Mommy.  While tickets were received to facilitate this post, all opinions remain 100% mine.

  1. I love Cirque Du Soleil! I have such mixed feelings about the traditional circus given the questionable treatment of the animals. With Cirque, there are no such worries and it is so much more amazing!
