Leapster 2: Review

hypothesis The Leapster 2 will be a fun way for Lily to brush up on her skills before entering Pre-K in the Fall.  It will be so much fun that she won’t even realize she is learning!

Lily received the Leapster from Santa last year at Christmas.  She instantly fell in love and quickly learned to manipulate the controls.  The games she played all had various levels and I always gently suggested to Lily that she start with Level 1.  However, it wasn’t long before she was on Level 4 and loving every

minute of learning.  So, you can imagine how thrilled she was to get the Leapster 2 in the mail for review.   At first glace it looks quite similar to her Leapster and all of the games we had accumulated still work in the Leapster 2.  But the advantage of the Leapster 2 is that it connects to the computer for even more fun and parent involvement.

Each time the Leapster 2 is connected to the computer, a parent can access the Learning Path their child is taking which will show you play data such as play time, skills mastered and questions answered.  Not only can you monitor your child’s progress, but you can reward it, too!

summary

Leapfrog has been a leader in educational toys for our youth.  Lily loved playing her Leapster 2 and as a Mom, I loved being able to monitor her progress online.  Because I could see how she was doing, this opened the lines of communication to discuss with Lily what she was learning or needed help with.  Leapfrog also has other wonderful products such as the Tag which is on Lily’s Santa list this year!
