Review and Giveaway: DOLE Make me a Chef Contest!

Lily absolutely LOVES playing “cooking show” in the kitchen anytime we prepare a meal.  So, I knew the DOLE Make Me a Chef contest was right up her alley!

dolelogoChef Ben Ford has created four signature recipes with DOLE Canned Fruit and you (plus three friends) can win the chance to hang out with the Chef at his Los Angeles restaurant this June!  It’s so easy to enter:

Visit the Registration Page and enter a short essay on how DOLE Canned Fruit is a staple in your pantry no later than May 8, 2009.

In addition to winning the trip, you can also win $100 worth of DOLE products in weekly random drawings OR one of two drawings for a $500 VISA gift card!

Lily and I looked through the recipes and decided to try out the Easy Aloha Smoothie.  Check out my Little Chef!

DOLE has also placed the power in MY hands to select one reader to win a “Stock Your Panty” gift card worth $25 of DOLE Canned Fruit!

  8. I’d love to try the sweet and sour chicken recipe. Here’s the essay I submitted:

There is something magical about Dole’s canned fruit products since they attract my family like a kitchen magnet to a steel refrigerator door. That is why I regularly keep Dole canned fruit in our pantry. And, interestingly, akin to the wonder of magnets, I’ve found that opposites do attract. For instance, my picky 5 year old who seems to repel eating, let alone trying, most things that are healthy is strongly drawn to Dole’s nutritious canned mandarin oranges and pineapple chunks. Since they are naturally fat and cholesterol free and rich in vitamin C, I am delighted to serve “Mr. Finicky” his Dole “treat” whether right out of the can, with yogurt or in his favorite gelatin mold.
Yes, the invisible force between Dole canned fruit and my family’s tummies is powerful and real. I’ve read that once a piece of steel is magnetized, it will be attracted to other metals indefinitely. I have a strong suspicion the same magnetism holds true for my family’s love of Dole canned fruit.

  9. The Asian Mandarin Salad sounds great for spring and summer! Thanks for the review and giveaway!
