Wordless Wednesday

Santa brought Lily her first dollhouse for Christmas! She is SUPER excited and has been playing with it nonstop. Well, I looked into her dollhouse yesterday and found this:

My guess is that she was reenacting the days before Christmas at my home! LOL! Poor baby. I think she was traumatized by that stomach virus!

Lemonhead Kidz: Review and Giveaway CONTEST CLOSED

It is hard NOT to get excited about a product when you meet an entrepreneur that is passionate about their craft and stands behind it 110%. That is what I found in Noeui from Lemonhead Kidz!

From the website: “LemonHead Apparel was founded out of sheer frustration with the hair accessories we were purchasing for our children. Our little two-year-old loved taking her hair clips out and apart during nap-time, her favorite was pulling the embellishments off and peeling the decorative ribbon from the metal clip – IT WAS GETTING EXPENSIVE AND JUST HAD TO STOP!!!We couldn’t find a structurally sound clip that stayed in our daughter’s fine hair, so after months of trial and error we finally came up with a clip she couldn’t destroy and stayed put. Voilà, Clipeez were born!!”

And soon after, Bandeez, a non-slip, fully adjustable headband joined the product line. The accessory line has become so popular that she now employs 14 stay at home Moms!

When Noeui asked me to put her products to the test with my own daughters, I was more than happy to oblige. I received 3 Clipeez and 3 Bandeez. My first impression was that they were very cute! I immediately stole one of the headbands for myself! But, there are loads of cute hair accessories out there….what makes this product different?

The Bandeez are fully adjustable so they work for both Moms and daughters. The extra ribbon can be used to tie your hair back at the same time which is great for sports or for mealtime. Now, Lily LOVES headbands, but I never let her wear them because they constantly slip out. Let me tell you….these STAYED PUT. It was a MIRACLE. And my husband did her hair in this photo……it’s THAT easy! LOL!

The Clipeez are completely glueless. I have no idea how they get the cute embellishments to stay on there (maybe it’s magic?), but they do NOT come off. I received a flower embellished clip that I really put to the test by tugging and actually TRYING to rip it off… did not move. The process for embellishing the clips is actually patent pending. AMAZING. And to top it off, the Clipeez stayed in Aubrie’s super fine baby hair better than any other product I’ve tried.

There are literally hundreds of ways to wear these accessories. You can see lots of photos of the versatility of this product on their website. I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I am with Lemonhead Kidz ! I will definitely be buying some headbands for both the girls AND myself. LOVE IT.

Want to try them out for yourself? Lemonhead Kidz has generously donated one Bandeez in EACH of the three size categories AND three Clipeez of your choice! That’s 6 items! Don’t miss this giveaway!

Precious Girls Club: Review and Giveaway CONTEST CLOSED

Do you have a Precious Girl in your life? After wading through aisles of age inappropriate toys for my daughter at Christmastime, I am so happy to see a website that promotes a wholesome and safe environment online for young girls.

The Precious Girls Club was started by the book character, Katie in “A Little Bit of Faith” when she moved to a new town. Katie didn’t know anyone and had a hard time reaching out to make friends. Her Mom and Aunt convinced her to believe in herself, have a little bit of Faith, and start a club for the girls at her school!
The PGC grew into a wonderful online community where young girls can play in a wholesome, virtual world. Decorating her room, buying new clothes, sending friends postcards, playing games and even attending Chapel are a few activities your daughter can find by joining the Precious Girls Club. As she completes tasks, she can gain virtue charms such as: Helpfulness, Kindness and Responsibility. Once five virtues are earned, your Precious Girl is awarded wings and can advance to a new level of the website including secret games!

One feature I really liked about the Precious Girls Club is that it encourages parents to be involved. There is a Parent Landing feature of the website that allows you to interact with your child in this virtual world by sending them messages rewarding them for good behavior or acts of kindness in the real world. They also have printable pamphlets for parents that suggest ways to talk to your daughter and reinforce the virtues found in The Precious Girls Club.
Want to try it out? The Precious Girls Club has given me the following code for your Precious Girl to enjoy one month FREE Rainbow Membership:

I also have a Precious Girls Club prize pack including a copy of the book, “A Little Bit of Faith”, a pink tote bag, a stuffed animal, friendship bracelets, charm bracelet and Kind Charm for one lucky reader!

How to enter:
1. Take a look at The Precious Girls Club website and tell me why the precious girl in your life would want to join the club?

Additional entries (leave each entry in a separate comment):

2. Favorite me in Technorati.

Ear Check: Review

Lily, my oldest, had one horrible ear infection at the age of 11 months. At first, we did not know she had an infection because she did not present with fever or crying. Lily just constantly shook her head, which I thought was the beginning of the “no” phase! In time, the head shaking got worse and resembled more of a tremor until I decided to take a trip to the ER. Diagnosis: ear infection. We tried antibiotics and shots and NOTHING would relieve her pain. It was a horrible month until finally at one year old, she got a set of ear tubes.

Aubrie, my youngest, is now battling her own ear issues. So, when I ran accross this product on Twitter, I was more than excited to give it a try!

EarCheck Middle Ear Monitor is the first clinically proven home-use monitor that accurately detects middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection. Used by pediatricians for years, EarCheck helps you identify:

If your child might have an ear infection

When it’s necessary to seek medical attention

When the fluid is going away or gone

All in the convenience of your own home!

The EarCheck Middle Ear Monitor uses gentle sound waves to accurately and painlessly detect the presence of middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection. Simply place the tip of EarCheck into the child’s outer ear canal and press the SCAN button; the monitor works by sending a pleasant chirping sound into the ear canal. Some of this sound bounces off the eardrum and travels back to the instrument’s built-in microphone. EarCheck then analyzes the reflected sound to determine if the eardrum is working normally. If there is fluid in the ear, the eardrum’s vibrations may be restricted. The greater the fluid level, the greater the reflected sound. Within only seconds, you will be able to determine if your child has fluid in the middle ear.
After our stomach virus epsiode over the holidays, Aubrie started having fever. I suspected an ear infection and I was so happy to have the Ear Check! It was so easy…exactly like taking her temperature in her ear. And fortunately, no fluid was detected! Sure enough, fever was gone the next day.
Having the Ear Check will certainly help me to decide whether or not a trip to the Doctor is necessary. A definite MUST HAVE product for Mom’s of kids with chronic ear infections!

Jetta and the Jellybeans: Review and Giveaway CONTEST CLOSED

If you know me at all, you know that dance has always been a huge part of my life. From the time I could walk, if I heard music, my feet would start dancing! My Mom would tell me stories about how I danced down the grocery aisle, in elevators, and in the kitchen while she was trying to prepare dinner. And now Lily is definitely following in my footsteps.

So, when I was asked to review the new CD by Jetta and the Jellybeans entitled, “Tell Me What You Want to Be” I thought it would be a great idea to see if it inspired my little dancer!

Described as Schoolhouse Rock meets The Bangles, the Jellybeans’ new CD (to be released January 13), rocks out with catchy, get-on-your-feet-and-sing tunes that celebrate just how fun it is to be a kid (and teach a few life lessons, too). Kids and grown-ups alike won’t be able to stop singing educational tracks like “Outer Space” and “Gravity,” or just plain fun songs like “Wiggle” and “Celebrate.”

But the true test…..did the kids like it? I took some video of Lily who immediately jumped up and started dancing. The song you hear is “March Your Feet Up.” Even Aubrie got in on the action!

As you can see, it was a hit! This CD was a lot of fun and was a great way for Lily to dance around and burn off some energy!

Want to win one? Jetta and the Jellybeans have generously offered one lucky reader a free copy of their new CD!

How to Enter:
1. Because the title of their new CD is “Tell Me What You Want to Be,” tell ME what you always wanted to be when you grew up!

Additional entries (leave each entry in a separate comment):
1. Visit Jetta annd the Jellybeans and listen to a few tracks. Which is your favorite?
2. Blog about this contest.
3. Follow my blog.
4. Follow me on twitter (BridgetteLA) or tweet about this contest.

Contest ends at 11:59CST on January 2, 2009. Prizes not claimed in 72 hours will be forfeited and a new winner will be chosen. Open to U.S. residents only.

Magical Memories!

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas!

The stomach virus that has made the last week miserable, left us all alone so we could enjoy a fun and HEALTHY holiday!

Santa (and my family members) must think that I have a much bigger house than I actually do! Both girls got an obnoxious amount of gifts! LOL!

Thought I would share a few highlights from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And yes, my husband got Bean Burritos in his stocking (that’s what you get when you refuse to give Santa a wish list). Who knew Santa’s sleigh would fit through the Taco Bell Drive Thru!

Make photo slide shows at

Hope you all had a wonderful day with your families! On to 2009!

Think Thin Thursday: Week 7

I’m taking a break today from an elaborate Think Thin Thursday post, but I did want to post my scale picture, as promised.

This is what the stomach flu will do for your diet! LOL! That’s only 0.6 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight! But, I know this weight will come back since it is mostly due to sickness, so I’m not getting too excited.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas and I will be back with my normal Think Thin Thursday post next week!
