Blog Party: Day 6

Day Six of the MomDot Christmas of Dreams Blog Party is sponsored by: Uncommonly Cute, Lollipop Book Club and Flying Colors Baby.

Today’s topic: What is your favorite Holiday memory from YOUR childhood?

OK, so I am going cheat a little bit on this one because my favorite holiday memory was from 2004. I was 30, but I was still a child at heart (does that count?).

On Christmas Day 2004, I was VERY pregnant with my first daughter, Lily. After we had Christmas Lunch at my Mom’s house with the entire family, we looked outside and it was SNOWING. This might not be a big deal for most of you, but I live in New Orleans! It NEVER snows here. I have never made a snowman or a snow angel. I have never gone skiing or even seen snow sticking to the ground. I have never owned a snow suit and a sled. This was HUGE. My whole family turned into giddy children and started running around outside in the freezing cold throwing snow and laughing. Even my “over 80” Grandmother went into the yard to play in the snow! It was an amazing day that I will never forget!

  3. Sounds like such a wonderful day! It’s already snowed here once, I’m thinking we’ll definitely have a white Christmas-maybe a white Thanksgiving too.
