Freschetta By the Slice Pizza: Review and Giveaway

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

FreschettaAs busy as my schedule can be, I try my hardest to prepare a balanced breakfast for my daughters before sending them to school, and packing a fun but satisfying lunch for them as well.  I will admit that it takes much planning (especially for my picky eater), but it is totally worth it because my daughters are my life!  That being said, I take so much time planning for our busy weeks that I often forget to plan for myself!

I work full time outside the home and try to bring my lunch to work on occasion in order to save money.  But there is one problem….I am not a fan of leftovers.  So, my options become limited to various sandwich selections.  However, I just learned about FRESCHETTA® By the Slice Pizza which allows you to just bake one slice of pizza at a time!  Gone are the rubbery reheated pizza slices!

The Freschetta By the Slice pizza comes in several different varieties including BBQ Recipe Chicken, Vegetable Medley, Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom and Six Cheese Medley.  Because I am not an adventurous eater either, I opted for the Freschetta Six Cheese Medley.  It was very easy to heat in the microwave and even came out crispy!  The cheese was not rubbery at all and melted nicely.  I would definitely consider bringing this for lunch at work!

Freschetta Flatbread Pizza: Review

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Freschetta. All opinions are 100% mine.

As a Mom of two who also works outside the home, planning meals ahead of time is a must!  My husband and I try to prepare meals, not only for nutritional value, but meals that are cost effective as well.  Another must?  The kids have to want to eat it!  Fortunately, Freschetta FlatBread Pizza fits the bill!

Frozen pizza is a quick and convenient meal that my kids love.  However, we have tried to but a “value” pizza only to have it go to waste because the quality was poor.  Since that experience, we have been loyal to one particular brand and have not ventured away from it in quite some time.  So, I was glad that Freschetta gave me an excuse to think outside of the box.  The good people at Freschetta supplied me with a few coupons to take their pizzas for a test drive with my family.  We selected both the Freschetta FlatBread Pepperoni and the Freschetta Rising Crust Four Cheese pizza. About the Freschetta FlatBreads:

flatbreadGo ahead – indulge in pizza tonight. For this amazing flatbread, we start with just the right amount of only all-natural cheeses and a sauce made from real, ripe tomatoes. Then, we top it with colorful vegetables and generously sliced meats. All of these aromatic flavors sing through on our amazing ultra-thin crust, created to bake up incredibly crisp. Freschetta® Flatbread is a perfect balance of big flavors all on a crispy crust for a unique taste that’s on the lighter side of pizza.

Both pizzas smelled wonderful while cooking and Aubrie enjoyed watching the Rising Crust Pizza takes its shape in the oven.  But how did they taste?  Fabulous!  I enjoyed the FlatBread pizza while my girls loved the Rising Crust pizza because it looked more like traditional pizza (and how food looks is a big deal when you are 2 and 5).

After checking out the Freschetta site, I saw that the line also includes single serving pizzas.  I will definitely be trying those next because they would be a great way to spice up lunch at work!  Interested in trying Freschetta?  Download a $1 off coupon and run (don’t walk) to the grocery!

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste: Review

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

When Lily was about 10 months old, she had a horrible ear infection.  The doctor put her on several different antibiotics to try and ease her pain.  Needless to say, she got one horrible case of diaper rash.  Believe it or not, up until this point, she really never developed a diaper rash so I was clueless of it’s treatment.  The pharmacist recommended that we try Boudreaux’s Butt Paste which is readily available here in the South.

I had heard of this diaper cream, but had not tried it before.  Squeezing it out of the tube was sort of difficult because it is so thick.   This texture was just what Lily needed.  She was much easier to diaper after applying the cream and her rash healed in no time!  From that point on, I am a loyal customer and wouldn’t dream of trying another brand.  When my second daughter was born, I made sure we were stocked with plenty Boudreaux’s!  The butt paste, made of 16% Zinc oxide and Peruvian Balsam, is available in many different sizes for your convenience:  1oz, 2oz, 3oz and 4oz tubes, 16oz jar and single foil packs for on-the-go ease.

Have a “Date Night” this Friday!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

With two kids and a full time job (not to mention this little blog to run), it is hard to find quality time to spend with my husband.  One thing we have done in our *almost* 10 years of marriage, is schedule date nights once a month in order to have some adult conversation and remind ourselves why we fell in love.  Most of the time, we choose to have dinner together, but on occasion, we also treat ourselves to a movie (and maybe a milkshake).

In trying to decide what we will do for our next outing, I found out that this Friday, April 9th, is the premiere of Date Night Movie starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell.  My husband is a HUGE “Office” fan, so I know he is game to watch any movie with Steve Carell in it!  A little about the movie:

In “Date Night,” which opens Friday, a bored suburban couple played by Steve Carell and Tina Fey go on their weekly dinner date and find themselves thrown into a night of intrigue: there’s breaking and entering, a car chase, a shootout and a showdown with an underworld boss at a strip club. Husband and wife come out of the adventure with some scratches and also with their ardor renewed.

Want more?  Check out the trailer below!

Hubby and I can’t wait to see it!  Check you local movie times, get a sitter and schedule a “Date Night” this Friday!

Wheat is Neat!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Wheat Food Council. All opinions are 100% mine.

Because I have been following the Weight Watchers weight loss plan, I have been more health “selective” when choosing which foods to eat.  I have learned that foods rich in fiber such as whole grains tend to be lower in “Points” and more satisfying.  I want to feel full while losing weight, so I often reach for the filling foods.  While its easy to grab a loaf of wheat bread or a box of shredded wheat, I never stopped to think about all the hard work that goes into producing these helpful foods.

Screen shot 2010-02-19 at 9.33.07 PMIf you have the same questions, check out the new interactive, online multimedia program called How Wheat Works. This website delivers a farm-to-fork education on wheat, enabling a better understanding of its nutritional value. I have had the opportunity to take a look at this site during another promotion during which I took the time to plant some hard wheat.  When I signed in today, my crops were ready to harvest!  It was lots of fun to see how the farmer knows when the crop is ready to harvest, and the machinery that is involved (one acre of wheat can be harvested in less than 12 minutes!). Activity suggestions at the end of each phase allow participants to extend their learning experience through preparing wheat-based recipes, exploring wheat grown in their area through our state wheat commission member sites and viewing harvest videos from “America’s Heartland.”

And if you need more incentive to participate in the program, the Wheat Foods Council will donate two pounds of flour, up to 90,000 pounds, to Operation Homefront, a non-profit that provides assistance to needy U.S. troops and their families. This program is also being extended to youth by providing a kid-friendly website containing games, quizzes, and recipes. By arming citizens with information, the Wheat Council hopes to teach people how a whole or enriched grain food comes to be can shed new light on wheat nutrition, resulting in informed food choices.

Making life easier for Moms: Purex 3-in-1

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Purex. All opinions are 100% mine.

Let me give you a quick run down of my life this past week or so.  The Saints won the Superbowl, schools closed to celebrate, the Saints had a victory parade, I attended the Disney Social Media Conference for 4 days, today is Valentine’s Day, my Sister-in-law is visiting and Mardi Gras is Tuesday.  Oh, and I have a full time job, two kids and this little blog to run.  Whew.  I am tired just thinking about it.

I wish I could say that this is unusual, but life is hectic for this Mom just about everyday.  So, when a product comes along that can make my life easier, I stand up and take notice (and of course share it with you).  With four people in my home, laundry is a never-ending task.  The expense of buying detergent, fabric softener and a dryer sheet can certainly add up, not to mention leave plenty of room for error.  I have NO TIME to rewash clothes or scrub floors covered in liquid detergent goo.  Enter Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheet!

purexOne little Purex sheet contains an entire loads worth of detergent, softener, and anti-static. Simply place the sheet in your washing machine with your clothes, there is no liquid to measure!  During the wash cycle, the detergent is released.  After washing transfer the sheet to your dryer where a heat activated strip releases fabric softener and anti-static.  Done!  No stopping to grab additional products!

I loved the Purex 3-in-1 sheets!  It was incredibly easy to use, cost effective, and took up much less space in my laundry room.  This product would also be great for college students or hurricane evacuations!

Ramblers Way: Re-imagine Wool!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Living in Southeast Louisiana, I never consider buying wool garments.  I can remember many Thanksgiving dinners and even Christmas parties attended in short sleeve t-shirts and shorts, so my winter wardrobe rarely consists of heavy sweaters. However I was recently introduced to Ramblers Way, a company that encourages you to “re-imagine wool as a next-to-skin, superfine fabric, that warms and comforts people of all ages and walks of life.  Ramblers Way  creates superfine worsted wool garments, while maintaining high standards of ecological responsibility, community involvement, and customer satisfaction.

ramblersway

After searching their website, I learned some great things about wool!  Did you know that their garments are fully machine washable, repel odor, resist wrinkling, and are flame resistant?  Plus, their worsted wool warms and cools equally….wearable nearly all year long.  This is the perfect fabric for Moms on the go!  Check out this scoop neck short sleeve top for women!  This top is the perfect base layer for any activity because it is so smooth it can’t be seen under your clothes, or it can be worn alone at bedtime for super soft comfiness.

Looking for a “green” holiday gift?  Check out Ramblers Way to find the perfect holiday gift for the eco-conscienous person on your list!   The sheep are treated humanely and the products are non-sythetic, all natural and chemical free.  In addition, Ramblers Way donates 10% of their profits and 5% of their paid time back to the community.

Think wool isn’t for you?  Take the time to educate yourself at Ramblers Way and start re-imagining wool! SocialSpark Disclosure Badge
