Join the #PampersPinParty and Win a Year of Free Diapers!

If you read this blog at all, you now that I am a Pampers fanatic!  When my first daughter was born, I was given a pack of Pampers Swaddlers at my baby shower and I haven’t looked back.  Since then, I was honored to be selected for the Pampers Baby Board where I get behind the scenes access to new products and initiatives to share with my readers….and today is no different!

I am co-hosting the first ever Pampers Pin Party where you can win a years worth of free Pampers diapers or a goodie basket filled with diapers and wipes for participating.  Have you heard of a Pin Party?  Tell me you are on Pinterest.  If not, go now and sign up.  You can thank me later.

So, how do you win?  It’s simple!  Follow these easy steps and join in the fun:

  1. Sign in to your Pinterest account and create a Board entitled “Baby Shower Ideas #PampersPinParty“.
  2. Start pinning!  Pin at least 10 ideas to your virtual bulletin board such as cute baby shower party themes, party favors, baby shower gifts, shower games, etc.
  3. One of your pins must be THIS POST.  Please pin the yellow STAR GRAPHIC to your board.
  4. One pin must be a product from Pampers.com.
  5. All of your pins must have #PampersPinParty in the description.
  6. Link your board URL to the linky below so we can follow your participation!

Why should you play?

The Perfect Baked Potato Soup {Recipe}

Confession:  I am addicted to Pinterest.  I have found so many great recipes to try (and I am by no means as great cook).  Last night, I made Baked Potato Soup from scratch!  For those of you who know me, you should be quite impressed.  My whole family loved it, so I wanted to share it with you for those cold winter nights.  Enjoy!

Baked Potato Soup {Recipe}

Serves 6
Prep time 1 hour
Cook time 20 minutes
Total time 1 hour, 20 minutes

Baked Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 Russet Potatoes (medium)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour (divided)
  • 1 can Chicken Broth
  • 1 1/4 cup Milk (1%)
  • 3/4 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream (light)

Optional

  • Bacon pieces (topping)

Directions

Step 1 Preheat oven to 400° F. Prick potatoes with a fork and bake for 1 hour. Remove skin and cut potatoes into small cubes.
Step 2 Melt butter in a 2 1/2 QT pot. Wisk in half of flour for about 2 minutes. Wisk in chicken broth, milk and the remainder of the flour. Cook until thick and bubbling.
Step 3 Stir in the potato chunks. Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
Step 4 Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. When ready to serve, add a sprinkle of cheese, dollop of sour cream and a few bacon pieces to garnish.

New Look, New You with Rayovac

Have you heard of the phenomenon known as Pinterest?  Think of it is as your playground, a huge bulletin board to “pin” your favorite recipes, organizational ideas, decor, blog posts and fashion tips.  As I become even more addicted to this social medium, I have found my favorite things to pin are hair, makeup and outfit ideas.  As I stare at my pins, I wonder why my own closet doesn’t even remotely resemble the outfits that I love?  The answer: accessories.

I think I just don’t ever complete the look.  I have the basics: a nice pair of jeans, a tailored jacket, a little black dress and a stylish handbag.  But, I don’t have the things that pull an outfit together and make it pop.  Pinterest has shown me some great ways to makeover my wardrobe with some easy pieces like earrings, ballet flats, and scarves.  In fact, I found this awesome hat when I was perusing the Rayovac Pinterest boards.

After 17 years in Federal Service as a biological lab technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, my project lost it’s funding due to government cutbacks and I was “involuntarily separated.”  I am faced now with a huge decision….look for employment within my field or try to take a totally different career path.  I have the power to write a brand new chapter in my life.  What an amazing opportunity.

The next few days/weeks will consist of much soul (and job) searching, but I turned to my new addiction, Pinterest, for some consoling and inspirational advice.  This is what I found…hope it helps you, too.
