Get Ready for RIO on April 15th!

Once you have filed your taxes, release some stress and take the family to see the new movie, RIO, an animated comedy featuring Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg!  About the movie:

From the makers of the hit ICE AGE series comes RIO, a comedy adventure about taking a walk on the wild side.  Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota.  Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart.  Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers.  With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes.  Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.

Sound funny?  Still not sure?  Take a look at the clip entitled, “Hang Glider.” Cute, right?  Save the date and get ready to fly into the theater on April 15th!

Re-Discover a Disney Classic! Alice In Wonderland DVD and Blu-Ray Review!

At almost 36 years old, I still love Disney movies, and love them even more when my kids enjoy them!  On February 1st, Disney released the 60th Anniversary Edition of Alice in Wonderland in a DVD/Blu-Ray Combo! From the website:  “Join Alice as she chases the White Rabbit and journeys into a topsy-turvy world that gets “curiouser and curiouser” as her fantastical adventures unfold. Meet the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Tweedledee & Tweedledum, the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and more unforgettable characters, all set against a backdrop of awe-inspiring splendor.”

Alice has always been a favorite of mine, and recently I had the chance for my little girl to see it for the first time!  We had a 30-mile car ride last weekend, so Alice in Wonderland was the perfect choice in the DVD player I am lucky enough to have in the car!  Em was immediately mesmerized by the engaging music and colorful, digitally remastered picture.  By the time we returned from our outing, we were both singing “Very Merry Un-Birthday” and laughing about Alice trying to reason with the cranky Queen of Hearts.

Have a “Date Night” this Friday!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

With two kids and a full time job (not to mention this little blog to run), it is hard to find quality time to spend with my husband.  One thing we have done in our *almost* 10 years of marriage, is schedule date nights once a month in order to have some adult conversation and remind ourselves why we fell in love.  Most of the time, we choose to have dinner together, but on occasion, we also treat ourselves to a movie (and maybe a milkshake).

In trying to decide what we will do for our next outing, I found out that this Friday, April 9th, is the premiere of Date Night Movie starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell.  My husband is a HUGE “Office” fan, so I know he is game to watch any movie with Steve Carell in it!  A little about the movie:

In “Date Night,” which opens Friday, a bored suburban couple played by Steve Carell and Tina Fey go on their weekly dinner date and find themselves thrown into a night of intrigue: there’s breaking and entering, a car chase, a shootout and a showdown with an underworld boss at a strip club. Husband and wife come out of the adventure with some scratches and also with their ardor renewed.

Take Extraordinary Measures and Win $10,000 for Charity!

CBS Films’ upcoming film Extraordinary Measures, starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser, is inspired by the true story of John Crowley – a man who defied conventional wisdom and great odds to pursue a cure for his children’s life threatening disease.   My husband and I saw the previews recently when we were in the movies and it looks incredible!  I cannot WAIT for this movie to come out!  You can view the trailer on the website….it looks like an incredible film.
