More Cereal…Less Sugar! General Mills coupon

My daughters are cereal monsters!  From the moment they had their first dry cereal, they were hooked.  Now they both love just about any type of ready to eat cereal with milk and would eat it at every meal if we let them.  So, when I heard that General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to children under 12, I was elated!  Now, these cereals will have under 10 grams of sugar per serving in addition to an increasing amount of key nutrients and whole grain.

cerealWe all know that breakfast is a very important part of the day, but did you know that a 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school? Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.  Combine the importance of a healthy breakfast with the reduced sugar in some General Mills cereals (Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms), and you get something that I am willing to try with my kids!

Need more reasons to try it?  Click here to download and print a $1 off coupon on any of the 4 reduced sugar General Mills cereals!

Go to the Movies on General Mills! Giveaway!

I love to go to the movies!  But having kids has certainly changed the frequency with which we choose to go to the theater.  My husband and I treated our daughter to a “Lily Day” which consists of our undivided attention to do anything she chooses together as a family.  Of course, she wanted to see the Hannah Montana movie.  Even though my husband was THE ONLY man in line for the Hannah Movie, he happily sat in the theater because it was Lily’s special day.  However, he was NOT so happy with the cost!

Movie ticket prices had soared reaching $9.00 a ticket, popcorn prices were insane and drinks the size of my head.  Lily had a great time, but we left the theater feeling robbed!  Because of the expense of going to the movies, we haven’t gone often.  But with the holiday season fast approaching, I know there will be some great children’s movies coming out!
