Ever since I was a little girl I remember watching Winnie the Pooh.  Even as I got older I still loved Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends and am now passing it down to my children.  We love the “Hundred Acre Woods”  so much that our nursery is decorated with all the characters! My son fell in love with all the gang before he could even walk.   Our entire family was thrilled when we learned a new movie was coming out.

Walt Disney Pictures released “Winnie the Pooh” on DVD/Blu-ray combo pack on October 25, 2011.   The movie is full of energy with so many cute songs to sing along with, my favorite was at the very beginning “A very important thing to do.”  I love the fact that the movie is funny for all ages, my husband laughed the most out of anyone.    I have to say Pooh is my favorite in this particular movie especially when he pictures everything he sees is honey.

As the Mom of two beautiful daughters, can there ever be too much Disney Princess stuff in my home? If you ask my girls, the answer would be a resounding , “NO!” Not a day goes by where the girls don’t dress up as Belle, Ariel or New Orleans’ own, Tiana. On October 2, 2011 in London, Disney officially welcomed the 10th princess into it’s royal court, Rapunzel. My daughters could not wait to join in the fun by playing princess on the new app. They tried out all of the features, but their favorite was being able to upload their own picture and virtually dressing up like one of the Princesses! Part of the fun of Disney is the timelessness of the tales and characters.  Be it princesses, witches, fairy godmothers or a pride of lions, Disney has the capacity to span generations.  It has been so much fun to share the movies I watched as a little girl with my own daughters today.  One of those movies?  Dumbo!

On September 20th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released the 70th Anniversary Edition of the classic DUMBO in a Blu-ray Hi Def and DVD Combo Pack ($39.99).  The combo pack includes bonus features such as deleted scenes, interactive games, audio commentary and behind the scenes details. About DUMBO:

Is Summer really almost over?  Here in Southeast Louisiana, my kids are headed back to school in only 3 weeks.  That means it is time to start getting back in routine, gathering school supplies and thinking about creative snack and lunch ideas.

Each day, both of my girls need to take a snack to school with them.  I hate sending the same thing everyday and I really put some thought into sending something healthy.  So, I was happy to learn about the new Crunch Paks!  About the product line:

We were sent some of the Crunch Paks with cheese, apples and pretzels as well as some of the FOODLES packs with apples and grapes.  My girls immediately zeroed in on the Mickey Mouse shape of the container and couldn’t wait to see what was inside.  Once we opened the pack, they dove into the cheese first, apples and finally pretzels.  It was gone in no time flat!  I definitely think, especially because time is of the essence in my home, I will purchase these for school snack times.

Gone are the days of watching the evening news in my home.  Most days, our television is tuned in to the Disney Channel!  Whether the girls are watching “Good Luck, Charlie” or “Imagination Movers”, I know it is age appropriate entertainment for my daughters.  Of course, my oldest is also a fan of “High School Musical” and couldn’t wait to see Ashley Tisdale in “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.”

When Disney released Tangled in the movie theaters, I decided to take my then two year old to her first movie.  To be honest, I didn’t think she would make it through the whole thing.  Sitting still at that age is a big challenge.  When the movie began, she was captivated and has loved everything “Tangled” since.

On March 29th, Tangled will be released on DVD, Blu-ray combo pack and movie download and I have a feeling that the Easter Bunny may leave it in my daughter’s basket. Navigate the widget below to check out some of the fun features!

One of the best things about the holiday season sharing traditions and making new memories with loved ones.  My family is still young, so we are making new traditions of our own that hopefully we will share for many years to come.  For starters, we make decorating the Christmas tree a family event.  Hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course!) is served and pajamas are worn as we relive the memories of each ornament placed on the tree.  After the tree is decorated, we put on a holiday themed movie and spend the evening together (last year we watched Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, remember that one?).

This Tuesday, November 16th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment debuts its first Blu-ray™ 3D release with the unique interpretation of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale, A Christmas Carol, starring Jim Carrey.   While my children are a bit young for this holiday classic, families with tweens and teens would love it!  Carrey plays multiple characters including the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come in this comical, touching, and sometimes eerie movie.  From the press release:

Earlier this month, Cecelia from Cool Baby Kid and I traveled to Las Vegas to speak at Blog World Expo.  While we were there on business, we managed to sneak in some fun, too!  The great people at Disney’s The Lion King musical at Mandalay Bay were nice enough to provide us with two incredible seats for the Thursday night showing.

This musical, based on the 1994 film, is one of the most popular shows on Broadway today.  And after viewing the Las Vegas show, I can totally see why!  The music was phenomenal, the dancing was elegant, but my favorite part was by far the costumes.  The costume designers did such a superb job that I actually forgot that the actors were human.  The costumes allowed you to transport inside the performance to make you feel like you were part of the jungle.  I could not take my eyes off of the stage (the two youngest actors were fabulous)!  One small warning….the songs are contagious.  Both Cecelia and I found ourselves singing the tunes at various points during the conference…which was certainly not a treat for anyone listening!
