Clorox Toilet Bowl in New Orleans! {Giveaway}

Here in New Orleans, we bleed Black and Gold.  I’m not kidding.  Saints football is like a religion to most New Orleanians, and my family is no exception.  For years, the Saints were the Aints and although we were tired of being at the bottom, we supported our boys and cheered them on.  But, earlier this year, everything changed.  The New Orleans Saints are now the SUPERBOWL CHAMPION New Orleans Saints.

This Thanksgiving, Saints fans get a special treat!  Our team will be playing on Thanksgiving Day!  Many fans will trade in the traditional turkey dinners for tailgating food and popcorn.  So, it’s only fitting that the first ever Clorox Toilet Bowl will be played right here in New Orleans!

From the SuperBowl to the ToiletBowl?  Just hear me out….I have a point!

Many families across America partake in a friendly (or mostly friendly) games of touch football.  This year, Clorox is inviting two families to travel to New Orleans and play the game in the official ToiletBowl!  Each finalist, will be able to select nine teammates to travel to New Orleans for a 3 day, 2 night vacation in the Big Easy.  And the best part?  The former pro quarterback (and The Bachelor star) Jesse Palmer will coach the families!

So how do you enter this fabulous contest?

  • Tell Clorox in 100 words or less why your team should play in the Clorox® Toilet BowlTM. Describe your family tradition; your game if you have one and if not, how you experience the bowl season.
  • 2. Upload a photo. Upload a photo of yourself either alone or with family and/or friends that displays your family-friendly football tradition.

Green Works Walk to School Challenge!

Unfortunately, I can say that I have never walked to school.  Our house was always out of walking distance.  I did, however, walk home from school once in knee high water when the entire area flooded….not fun.  But, I always did envy the kids that got to walk home with their parents and I wish I could share that with my own daughters.  But again, it is just not possible.

I definitely see the value in walking to school not only for needed exercise but great quality time with your children.  I try to replicate that experience with my girls by turning off the radio on our morning drive and using the ten minute drive to talk about the upcoming day’s activities or whatever the mood brings.

Through the month of October, Green Works wants to encourage you to take the Walk to School Challenge with your children not only to spend precious minutes together, but to benefit your school as well!  Sign up on the Green Works Facebook page, log your footsteps and compete against other schools for the chance to win the $5,000 Green Grant! Your child can also win individual prizes for logging their walking or bicycling distances.

Spread the word around your school, get outside and start walking!  Good Luck!

Review and Giveaway: Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canisters

With two kids under age 4 who both attend daycare or preschool, germs are inevitable.  And no matter how much I preach, let’s face it, infants and toddlers are not the most sanitary beings out there!  So, I arm  myself with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.  These wipes have been a staple of every grocery visit and are stored in a cabinet (where the kiddies can’t touch, of course!).

Thanks to the Family Review Network, I have been introduced to Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canisters!  Clorox has “redesigned clean” so those handy wipes do not have to hide in the cabinet anymore!  The new packaging is so attractive and trendy that you can proudly display them on your countertops or sink where they can be easily accessed for clean ups. cloroxdecor

Even though the packaging is different, the product you have grown to trust remains the same.  The Clorox Decor Canisters still contain the same great formula that kills 99.9% of household germs but is now offered in 8 fashionable canisters.  The improvements don’t stop at the attractive exterior!  The dispenser system has had a remodel as well, which now includes a wider mouth for easier access and a single sheet dispensing system.

I received the Blue Squares Canister and it looks great on my bathroom sink!  I really like the new dispensing system because it really is easier to grab just one sheet.  With the old system (one roll of perforated sheets), I would sometimes pull out more sheets that I desired and placing them back in the container was next to impossible.  I cleaned my bathroom sink and my kitchen counters with the Clorox wipes and found that they work just as well as the original.

Right now, Clorox is holding a contest where you can vote on one of ten finalists for the next canister design.  By voting, you will automatically be entered in a drawing to receive a $1000 Macy’s shopping spree!

Want to win more?  Clorox has given me 3 coupons for one FREE Clorox Wipes Decor Canister to give away to my readers!

How to enter:

1.  Visit Clorox and tell me which design you would get with your coupon!
