I Love Max.

This is a sponsored post. I am a Shop Your Way blogger and all opinions are my own.

Lines.  I hate them.  I have absolutely no patience for navigating crowded stores and waiting in long lines making online shopping very attractive.  I try to get the majority (if not all) of my holiday shopping done online but shipping fees can really do a number on the budget.

Fortunately, there’s a new guy in town and his name is Max.  There are millions of reasons to love Max.  Max opens doors and carries your bags. He brings gifts (delivered in two-days or less!). Max is the real deal. And at just $39/year, he’s a steal. The other guy is just past his PRIME.

Meet Shop Your Way MAX, which offers free two-day shipping on Sears and Kmart merchandise for just $39/year. Shop Your Way MAX is available to members of Shop Your Way, a free online social shopping program that offers perks and points whenever you shop at Sears or Kmart.

At just $39/year, less money on shipping means more money to spend on gifts.  Members get free two-day shipping on tons of items, from tools and clothing to footwear and more.  Not convinced?  Try Shop Your Way MAX free for 90 days! Sign up and activate free two-day shipping for just $39/year.

Learning About Skincare at the RoC Academy

This post is written by the Experimental Mommy in partnership with The Motherhood and RoC.  While I am being compensated for my time and effort, all opinions remain 100% mine.

For the last two weeks since my first post about the RoC Academy, I have immersed myself in learning about how my skin ages and how I can effectively fight back….and you can fight back.  I didn’t want to keep all this great info to myself, so I invited  few friends to take the RoC Academy courses as well.

While your skin starts aging at birth, normal signs of aging start to appear in your 20s.  What I love about the RoC Academy, is that you can personalize the experience by choosing your age and topics you are most interested in learning more about.  Here are a few fun facts we learned:

  • Retinoids are a type of Vitamin A that occurs in many foods such as milk, eggs and colorful vegetables.
  • All retinoids are not equal.  Retinoic Acid is most effective but requires a prescription.
  • Retinol is the number one dermatologist-recommended cosmetic anti-aging ingredient. It can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles to improve the look of collagen-depleted skin while complementing the skin’s natural processes….and it’s over-the-counter.
  • The RoC® Brand launched the first pure, stabilized form of retinol in 1995.

The RoC Academy answered some of our most pressing questions, but my readers also submitted a few questions, too.

Sadie asks, “There are so many issues from dullness, to dark spots, but my top concern is how to get rid of the deep lines in my forehead.”

The RoC Deep Wrinkle Filler is specifically formulated to show results immediately and after four weeks.  This breakthrough dual-action formula, with an exclusive fusion of hyaluronic acid and pure RoC®RETINOL, is clinically proven to fill creases and diminish the look of deep wrinkles. It’s noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores) and dermatologist tested.

Karen asks, “What can I do about the dark circles under my eyes?

The skin around your eyes is very delicate and deserves special treatment After just four weeks of use, the RoC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream will even out the look of dark eye circles and reduce puffiness.  In 12 weeks, you will see wrinkles vanish, too!

Want to learn more?  Make plans to attend the #RoCAcademy Twitter Party this Thursday, April 3rd at 1pm EST.  A dermatologist will be on hand to answer your pressing skin care questions so make sure to RSVP here.

Step in Spring with Shoebuy {Giveaway}

This post was written by the Experimental Mommy.  While a sample was received to facilitate this review, all opinions remain 100% honest.

It’s been quite a rough winter for some so it is no coincidence that I heard a collective sigh of relief on this First Day of Spring.  If you are like me, you are ready to switch out the sweaters and boots for tank tops and sandals.  But after taking a look at my Spring wardrobe and accessories, I realized I am in need of a major overhaul.

As a longtime Shoebuy.com customer, I headed to their blog to check out the latest trends for Spring.  I absolutely love pastel flats to add a fresh feel to your outfit or  a pair of cutout sandals perfect for the many outdoor festivals here in New Orleans.  After a bit of window shopping, I headed to the running shoes because I will be doing my first ever RunDisney event in April at Disneyland!

So the race is only two miles, but it is a big deal for this non-runner.  Thankfully, Shoebuy.com has tons of running shoes from some of my favorite brands such as Sketchers, ASICS, and New Balance.  After careful consideration, I selected a pair of ASICS Gel-Storm 2 in black and turquoise.

Ordering was very easy and my shoes arrived at lightening speed.  Ready for training, I put on my new shoes.  The fit is true to size and they are very comfortable. I can definitely tell the difference when running on the track between the ASICS and my old, worn out sneaker.

Nail Art for Kids with Piggy Paint

This post was written by the Experimental Mommy.  While a sample was received to facilitate this review, all opinions remain 100% mine.

My Mom is a wonderful artist, but I got absolutely none of her creative talent.  I can’t even paint my own nails without making a huge mess.  But both of my young daughters are really into nail art and I love spending girly time with them, so I am doing my best to create fun and easy designs we can do together.

Piggy Paint, a water based nail polish, recently sent us many colors to try.  As a Mom, I have been a long time fan of Piggy Paint as it does not have a harsh chemical smell.  Since the weather is getting warmer and flip flop season is almost here, my daughters decided they wanted Spring Strawberry nails.  We found a great tutorial that looked simply and easy for us to recreate with Piggy Paint.  Here’s how we did it:

Paint all of your nails using Piggy Paint’s “Something Sweet.”  Use several thin layers instead of a thick coat to allow the polish to dry faster.  You can also dry with a hair dryer set on warm for 1 minute.  If your kids are anything like mine, sitting still is not their forte.

Next, we used a white polish to create the leaves by zig-zagging close to the cuticle.  Color the leaves with Piggy Paint’s “Ice Cream Dream.”  Finally, using black polish, create seeds. Ta-da! Our nails are completely Spring ready!

If your daughters are itching to create their own nail art, Piggy Paint can be found in select Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com.  You can also stock up on your favorite colors by heading to Piggy Paint’s website and using code piggypaint20 which will expire March 31st.

Ready to get started?  One lucky Experimental Mommy reader will win the Piggy Paint Glitter Girls Gift Set! Winners must be 18 years or older, are limited to the continental United States and are only eligible to win one giveaway prize per campaign.  Enter below:

Saving on Spring Style at Carter’s {Giveaway}

I participated in this program on behalf of Carter’s and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

Here in New Orleans, winter doesn’t normally last too long.  We are already in shorts and flip flops so it is just about time to switch out our closet and welcome Spring.  My youngest daughter generally gets the hand me downs, so she was thrilled when I told her she could go shopping at the Carter’s Baby and Kid Up to 50% Off Sale!

A brand new Carter’s, which carries clothing items sizes 3-7, opened very close to my home so I couldn’t wait to see what my little fashionista put on her Spring wish list.  As I could have guessed, the bright colors drew her interest quickly as she made a bee line for the Spring Separates.

The store was very easy to navigate and the prices (and amazing sales!) were marked very clearly which made our purchasing decisions that much easier.  My soon to be 6 year old was able to quickly coordinate outfits and I really enjoyed watching her style shine through.

Because of the Up to 50% off Sale plus an additional 20% off coupon, we were able to score three complete outfits for less than $50! Want to get in on the deals, too?  From now through March 4, 2014, clothing items from Carter’s spring collection are up to 50% off in store, and the coupon below provides an extra 20% off your in-store purchase of $40 or more. Use Carter’s store locator to find a store near you!

To jump start your Spring Style wish list, one Experimental Mommy reader will win a $50 Carter’s gift card!  Enter below:

Show Hometown Pride with The Home T

This post is written by Experimental Mommy Contributor, Rita.  Momma of 2. Entrepreneur. Owner of 2 Etsy shops. Geek. Photographer. Best virtual hugger. Doer extraordinaire. Blogging at www.YippyMomma.com. While a sample was received to facilitate this review, all opinions remain 100% honest.

When I was asked to review The Home T onesie, I took the opportunity because the concept was intriguing. I love the idea of showing hometown pride. After all, I’m a New Yorker and proud of it even though I’ve lived in other states along the way. I even made sure my children were born in NYC too, in the same hospital I was born in (yes, I’m that mom).

After opening the package, my first impression of the onesie was the fabric. It’s soft. This is absolutely important when dressing your children. My children have sensitive skin like me so I’m very cognizant of material that touches their skin.

Second, these onesies stretch well. Why is this important? One of my lil ones has a good sized head even thought it’s only 50 percentile. Most babies at this age seem to have large heads that pediatricians assure us they will grow into. This means we need clothing that can stretch without ripping. The Home T does this.

Which brings me to the next thing I noticed… these onesies are thicker than most I’ve seen. Nothing against Carters or Gerber onesies (we have them), but these Home T onesies are definitely thicker. What does this mean? It means they wash better. Every shirt will eventually wear and tear, but these Home T onesies will last longer than the former because they’re thicker which makes them sturdier.

I love the simplicity of the shirts as well. What’s not to love, a state and the word home. There’s nothing to have to think about.

With all these good things to say, what is one thing I wish the Home T had? Long sleeves. Love short sleeves, but during the winter in the east coast, it would be nice to have long sleeve options too.

All kidding aside, if you need more reasons to really love the Home T, it has to be it’s cause. When you buy a Home T, you help raise money for multiple sclerosis. A portion of their proceeds are donated to MS research. And what’s not to love about that?

Good quality + good heart = good brand

Keep Baby’s Feet Warm with Mocc Ons {Giveaway}

This post is written by guest blogger Andrea of Adventures in All Things Food.  While a sample was received to facilitate this review, all opinions remain 100% mine.

Ah, the age old baby dilemma. Socks, baby shoes or both?

My 8-month old isn’t ready for big boy shoes yet, but I still want to keep his busy feet warm. He has recently learned how to pull off all his socks, so I decided to give Mocc Ons a try.

These moccasin style slipper socks are the perfect blend between shoe and sock. For babies from 6 months up to 3 years, they are a stretchy cotton slipper with a real leather sole. Soft and flexible enough to not restrict his developing feet, they fit well enough that he can’t just pull them off and he hasn’t really tried. I am happy that my baby no longer has cold toes during the day and have fallen in love with the cowboy boot pattern for our trips out.

Check out all the cute styles on the Mocc Ons site. From sneakers and animals prints to cowboy boots and ballerina slippers there is something for every child’s personality.

Another fun accessory from the same company are the Dribble Ons. Instead of the usual dribble bib, these bandana style bibs are adorable and combine cotton and terry toweling to keep baby’s skin dry.

My son has been teething and this couldn’t have come at a better time. I have been fighting a small rash under his chin and chest from all the moisture. His light blue Dribble On makes an adorable accent when he is wearing his cowboy Mocc Ons and has done a great job of absorbing the copious amounts of drool from teething. Size is adjustable with two snap choices and they come in a whole range of colors and patterns.

Both products are fashionable as well as functional and I would highly recommend them for the babies in your life.

Scent Responsibly with Old Spice Re-fresh Body Sprays

This post is written by the Experimental Mommy. While I was compensated for my time and effort, all opinions remain 100% mine.

At my last job, I was working in a male dominated field.  Each morning when entering the elevator to go to my lab, I knew if one particular Scientist was already in the building…and not because I could see him.  An apparent victim of cologne over-spraying, he left a scent trail that lasted for several minutes.

To better understand the root of the overspraying issue among guys in the U.S., Old Spice enlisted leading youth market research firm YPulse to survey more than 2,000 guys and girls (ages 13-25), as well as 1,000 moms of teenage boys across the country. They found that the overspraying issue is real:

  • 3 out of 4 young guys and 83 percent of young females admit overspraying is an issue.
  • 72 percent of moms think overspraying is an issue, but only 26 percent think their sons are guilty of the offense.
  • Nearly 70 percent of guys revealed they weren’t taught how to properly apply Body Spray.
  • 45 percent of young guys said they reapply Body Spray because they thought their scent was fading.

With the release of the new Old Spice Refresh Body Sprays, Old Spice is taking a proactive approach to helping guys “scent responsibly” and end the overspraying epidemic once and for all.  Available in three collections, Wild, Fresh and Red Zone, the scent lasts all day so there is no need to reapply.  Check out the following video to learn how to “scent responsibly“:

Do you think that overspraying is an epidemic?  Have you experienced the “scent cloud” before?  Don’t miss any news from Old Spice by following them on Twitter and Facebook and help others learn how to scent responsibly!
