What I Did This Summer

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My oldest daughter started first grade this week (wow) and came home with an assignment to share what she did this Summer.  As she was jotting down her notes, we started reminiscing about the adventures we had this year.  We took our first week long family vacation to Callaway Gardens in Georgia where we learned to fly through the air on a circus trapeze, playing bingo on the beach, took a zip line among the trees and swam in the beautiful pool.  A few weeks later, we traveled to North Carolina and experienced the massive indoor waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge which was incredibly fun (until was all got sick).

With Summer winding down, there is still time for one last trip….maybe a long weekend perhaps!  Why not check out the Hiltons of Branson and the Branson Best Value Package?  This package includes deluxe accommodations at Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing (near the Convention Center), two adult and two children’s tickets to the Legends of Kung Fu show at the White House Theater in Branson, MO, two adult and two children’s two-day passes to Silver Dollar City®, a $25 gift card for shopping, and a $25 food credit for Level 2 Steakhouse. The best part?  Stay two nights and get the third for free!

Not sure what Branson is all about?  The destination is very family friendly with activities for everyone.  For example, check out The Mark Chapman Band – Live in Concert, Shepard Summer Cruise, Branson Mountain Man Triathlon, the 3rd Annual Guns & Hoses Fishing Tournament, or Cut Club Dinner Event to name a few.  Want more? So, what did you do this Summer?

Freschetta By the Slice Pizza: Review and Giveaway

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

FreschettaAs busy as my schedule can be, I try my hardest to prepare a balanced breakfast for my daughters before sending them to school, and packing a fun but satisfying lunch for them as well.  I will admit that it takes much planning (especially for my picky eater), but it is totally worth it because my daughters are my life!  That being said, I take so much time planning for our busy weeks that I often forget to plan for myself!

I work full time outside the home and try to bring my lunch to work on occasion in order to save money.  But there is one problem….I am not a fan of leftovers.  So, my options become limited to various sandwich selections.  However, I just learned about FRESCHETTA® By the Slice Pizza which allows you to just bake one slice of pizza at a time!  Gone are the rubbery reheated pizza slices!

The Freschetta By the Slice pizza comes in several different varieties including BBQ Recipe Chicken, Vegetable Medley, Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom and Six Cheese Medley.  Because I am not an adventurous eater either, I opted for the Freschetta Six Cheese Medley.  It was very easy to heat in the microwave and even came out crispy!  The cheese was not rubbery at all and melted nicely.  I would definitely consider bringing this for lunch at work!

Spring into Spring with Pier 1!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

black and white plantersThe warmer temperatures have hit my city and I am itching to start Spring!  March 20th is the official start of Spring and Pier 1 is getting ready with outdoor furniture arriving for you to enjoy!  We use our outdoor patio quite often, but every year the cushions and pillows need refreshing after sitting up all winter.  I love the new Angelique cushions and will definitely be taking a look at those to add to my outdoor living furniture.  Adding new cushions, pillows, and accent pieces like the Black and White Outdoor Planters are an easy way to change the look of your space without breaking the bank.   A lot of homes now have garden or sun rooms where you can enjoy the look of Pier 1′s beautiful outdoor furniture indoors as well.  I love the look of the Sunset Pier furniture and can easily see it making a beautiful statement indoors with it’s neutral tones that would compliment any color scheme.

Customers who sign up for the Pier 1 Outdoor newsletter will receive a special in store offer for the week of March 18-20th.  I can’t wait to take advantage of some of the great prices to add a few things indoors too, like the adorable Speckled Egg Centerpiece.

If you’re lucky, you will be able to attend one of the Pier 1 Tweetups in a city near you!  Join the fun in Orlando, Florida on March 9, Dallas, Texas on March 22, Atlanta, Georgia on April 5, and New York City on April 20.

Don’t wait until the last of the Spring flowers have bloomed to make your way to Pier 1!  There’s too much Spring style in store to miss it!

Get Moving with the PlayStation Move!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PlayStation(R) Move. All opinions are 100% mine.

My five year old daughter is just starting to really get into the gaming scene.  She already has several requests for Santa!  As a Mom, I am concerned about allowing her to get too involved with video games as I would rather see her engage in creative, active play.  However, after learning about the PlayStation(R)MOVE, I am more willing to let her give it a try!

Playtation Move LogoBy using the PlayStation Move Eye Camera and the motion controller, the system translates your every move into an awesome interactive experience.  You become the video game allowing for more active play!  Not only are there great games for kids such as EyePet (your own virtual family pet), but there is something for every age and intrest.  My husband would love to live out his dream by playing Rock Star 3 (and we would love to watch him play)!  And I know my girls and I would enjoy strutting our stuff with the new SingSong Dance.  I can really picture the PlayStation Move encouraging us to have more quality family time and a ton of fun!  The PlayStation Move is a great way to introduce gaming to my kindergarten child while including the whole family and getting everyone off the couch.

Beginning Sepember 17th, you can purchase the entire PlayStation Move gaming system, but for $99 you can also purchase the motion bundle to convert your existing PlayStation 3 to the Move!
