Get Nostaligic with Netflix {Giveaway}

This post was written by the Experimental Mommy.  As a member of the Netflix Stream Team, I received a complimentary subscription however all opinions remain 100% mine.

Last weekend, my entire family gathered for an Easter celebration including gumbo, sack races, egg hunt and ice cream.  To be honest, this is how I have celebrated Easter for as long as I can remember.  With the popularity of the Throwback Thursday meme on Facebook and Twitter, I started searching for childhood Easter pictures to post and came across some real winners.

While our Easter celebrations are classic, I am thankful the above chicken is not.  Really, I have to wonder why my Mom actually let me sit on it’s lap.  That being said, I have been blessed with a ton a great classic childhood memories.

When I look back on my childhood and teenage years, a few classic movies come to mind (you know, movies that make you remember where you saw it, who you were with, what you ate and how you felt).  Now I can relive those moments by watching my classics on Netflix.

What I’m watching:

1. The Muppets Take Manhattan

2. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

3. Say Anything

4. Pretty in Pink

5. Ghostbusters

What movies remind you of your own childhood?  Are you ready to take a trip down Memory Lane?  One of my lucky readers will win a three month subscription to Netflix!  Enter below:

  1. Strangely enough, the first Alien movie reminds me of my childhood. When we first got a VHS player in 1980, it was the only movie we owned, and my brother & I watched it over & over & over again. I think I was 10 and he was even younger!

  2. I remember watching Bambi when I was young in the movie theater than I would not watch the movie for years because of how badly it traumatized me. Thank you

  3. Mary Poppins and the early Kurt Russell movies (my favorites!) like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.

  4. The Goonies reminds me of my childhood … it was my brothers favorite movie so we watched it all the time.

  5. The Wizzard of Oz reminds me of my childhood. We would wait every year for it to be on tv and never missed it.
    Thank you!

  6. A made-for-TV Christmas movie – “The Night They Saved Christmas”. I used to start watching it in the middle of summer… and I’d watch it like once a month until Christmas. I still love it, cheesy effects and all.

  7. “Labyrinth” reminds me of my childhood 🙂 One of my very favorite movies growing up… and still is! 🙂

  8. It is a tie between Labyrinth and The Princess Bride. I still love both of those movies.

  9. The transformers (cartoon) reminds me of the movies. That was the first movie I saw in the theaters

  10. The Breakfast Club, I’m not going to say which character reminds me of myself 🙂

  11. The Jungle Book reminds me of my childhood! I was obsessed with that movie 🙂

  12. Hard question! We always watched the Wizard of Oz and the Peanuts movies, but what brings me back to my childhood would be Ghostbusters, Top Gun, and Gremlins!

  13. Dr. Doolittle because I was raised on a farm and we always had animals around. Not only did we have milk cows and horses, but we always had pets. We had dogs, cats and rabbits. There was one dog that loved to ride the tractor!

  14. Thanks for the giveaway…this one always reminds me of being a kid watching TV during Xmas holidays every year —> “March of the Wooden Soldiers” (1934) (aka Babes in Toyland )
