Forget the MetalMouth with Invisalign #INVStraightTalk

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Confession:  I was a thumb sucker.

Result?

Braces for FIVE YEARS.  At the time, I was one of the younger patients at my orthodontist.  At the end of 5th grade, I got my full set of braces installed.  Shortly after came the rubber bands and ultimately the dreaded head gear.  Entering high school with all of these contraptions did not make for the best way to raise the self esteem of an already introverted thirteen year old.

This is where I would show you a picture of me with braces.  Unfortunately, I didn’t allow very many.  The following was the first picture AFTER my braces were removed.  This is one happy 16 year old girl.

While my braces certainly corrected my overbite, wearing them for five years did a number on my enamel.  Telling a 6th grader that they can’t have soda, candy or gum did not go over very well and you could say that I was not the ideal patient.  An option like Invisalign would have been a life saver!

Invisalign is a new alternative to braces which uses a series of clear removable aligners made of lightweight plastic that sit smoothly on the teeth allowing for a more comfortable fit.  Because the aligners can be removed, kids can eat, brush and floss as they would normally.  The treatment is virtually invisible making those all important high school yearbook photos stellar.

To find out if Invisalign is right for you or your child, take the Invisalign Smile Assessment.  There are more than 2 million Invisalign cases in treatment or completed worldwide from very simple to very challenging.  As with any medical procedure, consider getting a second opinion if you are told you or your child is not a candidate for Invisalign. Not all dentists and orthodontists are certified Invisalign providers, the best way to find an Invisalign provider is to visit the Invisalign Doctor Locator.
