In the past few months, my hubby and I have been working hard to stick to our weight loss routines. So far, I am down 8 pounds and hubby is 22 pounds lighter! We are so proud of our success but I will be the first to admit that we get stuck in the rut of the same menu over and over again. We have figured out which foods help us stay on plan and fit within our calorie range for the day and rarely go outside the box.
When we do venture out to eat, SUBWAY is always our first choice. We know that we can get healthy options that won’t break our diets. When searching their menu, we always look for the Heart-Check certified SUBWAY sandwiches which meet the AHA’s stringent nutrition criteria including measurements for sodium, calories, cholesterol, saturated fat and trans-fat levels.
On a recent trip to our local mall, we decided to try the new October addition to the FRESH FIT menu at SUBWAY…the Tuscan Chicken Melt. This new sandwich features seasoned chicken strips, melted cheese and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette dressing and comes in at only 380 calories and 8 grams of fat. My hubby added spinach and red onion to his sandwich for a touch of his own personal taste and then inhaled the sandwich! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the balsamic vinaigrette provided spicy and moist quality he loved. It is great to find a new taste to incorporate into our diet menus. Delicious!
