Stay Sharp with Mentor Interactive Games

Do you ever stop and think to yourself how it’s grossly unfair that the toys our kids get to play with are SO much cooler than the toys we had?  As a 30-something year old, I tell my kids back in the “olden days’ there were no cell phones,  laptops, MP3 players, and “video games” meant you were looking at something like this:

Exciting, isn't it?

Luckily, our kids have lots more options.  We have a Wii and both kids have Nintendo DS systems, which they love for car trips and long waits in the doctor’s office.  This summer, I didn’t want them wasting brain cells, so I was excited to learn about the line-up of great games from ThinkSMART!

From the website: “Our award-winning educational video games are the perfect way to supplement your child’s education outside of the classroom. Kids love ThinkSMART Games because they’re fun to play, engaging and interactive—and you’ll love them because you’ll know that your child is reinforcing important creative thinking, reading, and problem-solving skills.”

ThinkSMART sent me a variety of games for my kids to test out.  My son loved the Crime-Solving of Scotland Yard and my daughter enjoyed treasure-hunting playing Labyrinth.  I introduced the games right before a car trip and they were excited to give them a “test drive.”  Both kids reported that the games were “cool” and I can report that they both stayed engaged for quite a while before I heard, “Are we there yet?”  Best of all, I was happy knowing they were actually having to think while playing.  ThinkSMART has some great options for Wii too, including ThinkSMART Wii Family, and Crazy Machines, which we all loved!    ThinkSMART games are widely available at most game retailers and would make a great gift for a kid (or adult) who loves to play!
