My hubby and I may have overindulged a smidge during the Summer break. As the new school year has begun, we are trying to implement new meal choices in our home. Because my hubby and I both work outside the home, our schedules are incredibly hectic and sometimes a meal-on-the-go is necessary. Fortunately, we have found the new McDonald’s Premium Chicken Sandwiches to keep us on track even when our schedule attempts to derail our efforts.
From the press release, “The new Premium Chicken Sandwiches are served on a new, soft bakery style bun and feature a white meat chicken breast filet that is offered grilled with an oven- roasted flavor, or crispy, with a home-style flavor. The Premium Chicken Sandwiches are available in three varieties including Classic, Ranch BLT , and Chicken Club.”
I was happy to learn that each new sandwich is offered with grilled chicken (crispy is offered as well) and the Classic sandwich has only 350 calories! Each sandwich also delivers 8 grams of while grain, quality protein and reduced sodium when compared to previous versions.
Today, I decided to try the new Premium Chicken Club sandwich for dinner (minus the mayo). To be honest, I am generally not a fan of grilled chicken sandwiches in fast food establishments. I have never found a quality piece of chicken on a sandwich and tend to steer clear of these menu items when making dinner selections. When ordering the new McDonald’s Premium Chicken Club Sandwich, I first noticed that the bun was different. I really liked the soft bun…it seemed more substantial than previous sandwiches. To my surprise, the chicken breast was delicious. It was tender and seasoned very well (in fact, I didn’t miss the crispy variety at all!). My choice came with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato and clocked in at 460 calories.
