My Pampers Miracle Mission: St. Michael’s Special School {Giveaway}

I am so very proud to be a part of the Pampers baby Board with several other fantastic bloggers.  Not only do I absolutely love the products (we used Pampers exclusively for both of my daughters), but the people behind the brand are amazing.  I love that Pampers gives back to the community and one of the most heartwarming endeavors to date is their Little Miracle Mission.

In honor of Pampers’ 50th birthday, the company decided to honor every baby, or Little Miracle, by giving back to those in need.  As a member of the Baby Board, I had the opportunity to create a Little Miracle in my hometown!  After giving it much thought, I decided to give back to St. Michael’s Special School, a place that made a world of difference to my cousin and her family.

The primary mission of St. Michael Special School is to provide students with special educational needs opportunities to develop their Catholic faith and to receive a high quality education including religious, academic, social, vocational and physical training,” explains the schools’ website.  With an enrollment of 200 students ages 6-15, St. Michael’s caters to those children who have learning difficulties that hinder their success in a traditional classroom.  After age 15, the school provides vocational training and even has sheltered work opportunities in their Joy Center for those individuals over age 21.

My cousin, Becky, was diagnosed with epilepsy as an infant.  As her condition worsened over time and brain surgeries became a reality, traditional schooling became a hardship for her and her family.  Fortunately, St. Michael’s was a light in her life!  Becky loved attending school there and my Aunt and Uncle were very pleased with the staff and the opportunities it provided to their daughter.  When Becky passed away, St. Michael’s was very kind to my family and still holds a place in all of our hearts.

For everything this school stands for and the countless hours of selfless acts by the Staff, I am very pleased to donate $1,000 of classroom supplies to St. Michael’s Special School in memory of my cousin, Becky.  In the coming weeks, I will share more of the story as I visit St. Michael’s to deliver the supplies and have a chance to chat with students and staff!  In the meantime, check out this inspiring video about St. Michael’s!  These kids are truly Little Miracles!

  1. Beautiful tribute to your cousin and our niece, Becky. Thank you, baby! I know Becky would be very proud of your’s and Pamper’s contribution! Love you, Mom

  2. When my kids outgrow their clothes, I take the ones that have barely been worn and bring them to a women’s shelter. These poor women come in, usually late at night, dragging hungry, tired children with them, and the first thing they have to do is look through the Shelter’s thrift shop cast-off clothing to find something to put on their kids. I like for them to have NICE things for the kids – it’s just one less thing they need to think about.

  3. I could create a little miracle by volunteering at our local women’s shelter and bringing them some of my home cooking

  4. I would donate these coupns to the Storks Nest- an organization here in town that helps young parents (mostly single Moms) learn how to take care of their babies and themselves. Its a great organization and they would appreciate any help in these hard times.

  5. There are countless children in our area who don’t have what they need for school.I would help by finding people to donate items like supplies, clothing etc. for the kids who go without.Sadly our area doesn’t have much and the national sponsors are tapped out,or the ones I have looked into anyway.

  6. I would help a grandmother I know who just had to take in her 8 month old grandson because the daughter couldnt so this would be a nice help to her

  12. I teach at a local alternative school. these kids need to know that someone cares and we are not throwing them away as others have.

  13. By donating clothes, shoes etc… to our local shelter. Also donating our time to serve those who need it.

  16. I create a little miracle in my town by using coupons. I’m able to collect stockpiles of items to donate. It always feels good to drop them off.

  17. I could create a little miracle in my community by offering coupons to someone who needs help with baby supplies and show them how to save money.

  18. after tornadoes touched down and did a lot of damage in our area, our church held a drive with several drop off locations. Anytime you can organize something at work or church or your neighborhood it makes it easier

  19. I could organize a drive for school supplies, backpacks, and new socks for local school children. So many parents are laid off that they can’t afford the basic school needs.

  21. There is a childrens hospital here that I would like to go donate some time at, it’s so sad to see the babies in pain there when they’re too little even know what the pain is!

  22. I’d really like to find a way to replace all the wood chips at our local playground with rubber padding. I know so many kids who have gotten caught on the wood chips. I’d love to figure out how to make that happen. I know the parents and kids would really appreciate it.

  23. As a nurse, I am in the miracle business. I love the fact that I can make a difference everyday. My latest miracle is the baby that I will be delivering in the next 2 weeks.

  24. I think that I would donate to my kids school. I know that they are truly in need of supplies & support from the community. It would help them immensely & would make me feel very good to help out & know my kids were benefiting.

  25. i saw something on the news about the kids in joplin missouri getting school supplies, and it made me want to help not only them, but my city as well. every little bit counts right?

  26. I live in a very small town, and I plan on stocking up on all the school supply sales this weekend and taking a bag or two to the elementary school. There will surely be children there who will not be able to get everything on their school supply lists.

  27. I like to think I help perform little miracles by volunteering and fostering animals for a local animal rescue. We pull animals who sometimes only have hours left to live in a shelter, due to overcrowding.

  28. I read in the paper last winter about the number of homeless kids that attended the elementary school where my children went. I could give these items to one of those families with a baby.

  29. I have worked in the past for Habitat For Humanity, working through them in my home town I could help create a miracle for a family in need of a home!

  30. I live in a town that has many volunteers willing to help with whatever is needed but there are always more projects than volunteers. I would like to help at an animal shelter and find a way to cut down the amount of unwanted animals in our community and find good homes for the ones in there now.

  31. I’m not sure exactly what I could do – but if I am lucky enough to win this giveaway, I will be giving this to my next door neighbor. She had an emergency C-section last Friday and her new daughter, Ava, is still in the hospital since she was born prematurely. She is doing well, but her Mother’s spirits could use some raising. This is something small that I can do for her that I know she would appreciate.

  32. My volunteering for the local shelter. My son and I (I’m a single mom) always volunteer our time on Thanksgiving to serve the homeless dinner. I think it is a great way to give back and teach him life is NOT served on a silver platter.

  33. I like the little miracles that my daughter does through Girl Scouts. They visit nursing homes and they have a toy drive every Christmas.

  34. If I had the means and a bigger place I would take in a foster child or two.
