Klutz Guide to the Galaxy: Review and Giveaway

As a teacher, I am a huge advocate of reading.  My little one has recently become a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and I love it.  Today’s tidbit while on our way to a birthday party was, “Mom, did you know an adult cat has 30 teeth?”  Anyway, I love books that teach interesting facts to kids in plain and simple language that they can understand.  The Klutz Guide to the Galaxy does just that!

I have often counted on Klutz products for birthday party gifts as their products are unique, budget friendly, and spark creativity.  The new Guide to the Galaxy would make a great gift for any budding astronomer you know.  With 6 must-have tools for the backyard, it gets kids DOING science instead of just reading about it.   My kids loved the spiral bound pages so that they could easily lay the book flat to get the specific information they needed.  My son’s favorite tool is the Build-it-yourself  Telescope.  With it, he was able to see the moon and identify some of its landmarks one clear night!  He has an “official” telescope too, and reading more in the Klutz Guide to the Galaxy sparked him to get it out and use it a few other following nights.   The Guide to the Galaxy can help answer simple questions like,  “Where’s the Big Dipper?”  to the unthinkable like, “How likely is it that a meteor will fall from the sky and squash me flat?” and “If I lived on Mercury, am I already old enough to drive?”

Klutz always has great ways of teaching things. They taught me to juggle and yoyo and do magic when I was a kid, I think they’re only natural to expect to teach cool stuff like space to kids too.

  39. Tracy says:

My child would love this because she is just simply crazy about science – there is just nothing that my daughter loves more – she would get allot of use from this book for sure.
