GLEE: The Complete First Season DVD Giveaway

I have been dancing my entire life.  My parents recognized my love for dance and immersed me in lessons.  From rehearsals, to competitions, to choreography to eventual teaching, I loved it all (and still do).  With my dance and performance background, whenever I hear music, I have to dance.  I really think it’s an illness….anytime I hear a song, I start choreographing or start counting the beats for a tap routine.  With all this musicality, you would think I could sing.  Um….no.  Not even a little.

When GLEE first debuted in May of 2009, I was immediately drawn to it because of the catchy tunes and dancing.  After the first episode, I was hooked.  While I have never been in a Glee Club (I had the good sense not even to try out), I can live vicariously through the characters on the show.  A little about the show:

Through the course of its initial 13 episodes and another 9 that aired in the spring of 2010, Glee transfixed its audiences with its offbeat combination of humor and drama and its musical numbers, ranging from Broadway to classic rock to rap, or even merging them together in the show’s famous “mash-ups.” Michele and Morrison, both with Broadway résumés, get the biggest credits (check Michele’s roof-raising “Don’t Rain on My Parade” or her “Defying Gravity” duel with Coifer), but the whole cast sings and dances with skill and heart. It didn’t take long for entertainment powerhouses of all stripes to take an interest in Glee, either as contributors (such as Madonna, who lent her music to a full episode) or as guest stars. Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth makes numerous appearances as glee-club alumna April Rhodes (none better than her duet with Morrison of “One Less Bell to Answer” and “A House Is Not a Home”), and in the season’s best episode, “Dream” (directed by Joss Whedon), Neil Patrick Harris and Idina Menzel (Chenoweth’s Wicked costar) sing terrific duets with Morrison and Michele, respectively. Other guest stars, to often-humorous effect, include Josh Groban, Molly Shannon, Eve, and Olivia Newton-John. At the end of the season, well-deserved Emmy wins went to director-creator Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), Lynch, and Harris, and Morrison, Michele, Colfer, and Chenoweth also earned nominations.”

Now you can relive the musical moments of the first season of Glee!  On September 14th, Fox Home Entertainment released the complete first season! The DVD can be purchased on Amazon for $39.99.

    Thanks for a great giveaway!

  6. I have a lot of favorites, but I would have to say the mash-up It’s My Life/Confessions is my favorite from season 1.

  7. Hey, I was on the glee Myspace page and saw a post advertising this page. My favorite song by them is Don’t Stop Believing. I thought it was better than the Journey version. Season two is a different story. My new favorite is Papa, Can You Hear Me?

  8. I am the only one in my house that likes GLEE, so I have only ever seen the first episode! I never have a chance to get caught up. I did see the tale end of one where Kristin Chenoweth performed, and it was great! I don’t know the name of the song. So I want this DVD so I can get caught up when no one else is around!

  12. I never saw the first season so I can’t tell you my favorite song. I must be the only person in America who missed season one. Would like the chance to catch up on this DVD.

  13. There was a duet I loved between Quinn and Puck while they were babysitting, but I can’t remember what the song was. I loved it though.

  14. I didn’t see the whole first season (which is why I want to win this) but I did catch the Madonna episode and loved all the songs like Vogue.
