Borden Milk: Giveaway

While my daughters tend to be picky eaters, I am so glad that I have had no problem getting them to drink milk.  We serve milk at breakfast, lunch and dinner (with the occasional chocolate milk, of course) and the girls just love it.  Recently, there has been a push to remove chocolate and other flavored milks from school menus.  But, a study encompassing 700 days and 58 elementary and secondary schools showed that when low fat chocolate milk was not available, kids avoided milk altogether and reached for a substitute.  The dramatic reduction (35% on average) of milk consumption in turn reduced the number of nutrients consumed by the kids.

Did you know that chocolate milk contains the same 9 essential nutrients as white milk?  Since my kids love their chocolate milk, I am happy to hear this!  Check out Borden’s website for other great facts about milk and what it can do for your little one’s growing body.

  1. Mostly by example. Our kids see us eating healthy and they tend to eat they way too. We buy low fat milk and at meals, we all drink milk. As a treat, sometimes we also make chocolate milk, but either way, our kids love the taste of milk. We seldom have soda’s in our home and we limit juices to mornings only. So though the choices are limited, the choices are healthy ones.
Thanks so much for this giveaway.

  13. Instead of my family eating fries. I give them zuccini sticks or apple sticks or carrot sticks to munch on.

  14. I try to make sure they eat home-cooked meals at the table with the family and never in front of the television with empty calories. And I never allow the kids to fill up on snacks before a meal. I noticed if you eat cooked meals you don’t snack on junk as often.
