TwinLab Marine Friends Omega-3 Powder: Review and Giveaway

With my two picky eaters, I am always concerned that they are not getting the daily vitamins they need to support healthy growth. I try my best to make sure they get their daily servings of fruit an vegetables, but to be honest, it can be challenging.

So, I was happy to try out Twinlab Marine Friends Children’s Omega-3 Powder. Getting sufficient Omega-3 can be difficult from diet alone, although it is found in seafood and fish oil.  In fact, the American Heart Association recommends eating fish at least two times per week. From the American Heart Association:

Omega-3 fatty acids benefit the heart of healthy people, and those at high risk of — or who have — cardiovascular disease. Research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids decrease risk of arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats), which can lead to sudden death. Omega-3 fatty acids also decrease triglyceride levels, slow growth rate of atherosclerotic plaque, and lower blood pressure (slightly).

twinlabTwinlab’s Marine Friends Children’s Omega-3 Powder provides and easy way to ensure that your kids are getting these fatty acids in their diets. It comes in portable single serving stick packs (30 sticks to a carton) which can easily be mixed in beverages or sprinkled on food. I first tried the product in chilled apple juice, but my daughter did not like the taste. I decided to try it in her yogurt cup and she didn’t taste it at all and at the whole cup without complaint.

From TwinLab:

Twinlab® Marine Friends™ Children’s Omega-3 Powder is a versatile, light tasting powder that blends almost invisibly into everyday foods and drinks like orange juice, yogurt, applesauce, baby food and fruit smoothies. Our formula contains a naturally sourced combination of DHA and EPA that is molecularly distilled for purity and provides 127mg of Omega-3s per serving, with no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or sweeteners added.

One box of TwinLab Marine Friends Children’s Omega-3 Powder can be purchased from $27.99 directly from TwinLab, Amazon.com or in Vitamin Shoppe’s across the nation. Want to try it? Use code HEALTHYKIDS3 for a 20% discount on TwinLab.com only.

  1. My daughter just loves fruits and veggies, so it is easy to keep her healthy. I also explain vitamins and nutrients to her and she knows they are good for her.

  2. I try to keep my kids healthy by sending them outside everyday to get exercise and some vitamin d!

  3. We go to the park often to play and I quickly learned soccer was something my little sister loved! So I got her a soccer ball, while my Mom makes dinners and always adds carrots or raisins to keep things more nutritious.

I try to always serve healthy well rounded meals and supplement with morning vitamins, just in case, as mine are picky eaters too.

  7. One way I keep my kids healthy is by giving them vitamins and supplements. I know we don’t always eat right so I make sure they take an overall vitamin, vitamin D and Omega-3 every day.

  8. i fix vegetables in appealing ways and also talk with my children about what vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are in certain foods.
