The 39 Clues: Giveaway

Lily is just about finished Pre-K and will be gearing up to enter Kindergarden in the Fall.  She has mastered letter sounds and is well on her way to reading and I could not be more excited for her.  As a child, I loved to read and I hope I can foster that same love of reading in Lily.  I still remember getting the Scholastic Book catalogs in Elementary School and going crazy circling the books I wanted to read.  Fortunately, my Mom knew the value to reading and agreed to buy just about any book we wanted.

Scholastic has put together a new series of adventure books, “The 39 Clues” and will be releasing Book 8 on April 6th!  What really makes this ten book series unique is that the books are supported with multi-media experiences including a website where readers can compete to win prizes.  From the press release:

the39cluesThe 39 Clues series centers around the Cahills—the most powerful family the world has ever known. But the source of the family’s power has been lost. Grace Cahill, the last matriarch of the Cahills, changed her will minutes before she died, leaving her descendants an impossible decision: receive a million dollars or a clue. The first Cahill to assemble all 39 clues hidden around the world will discover what makes the family so powerful—a reward beyond measure. It’s Cahill versus Cahill in a race to the finish, with readers hot on the heels of the main characters, fourteen-year-old Amy Cahill and her eleven-year-old brother, Dan. The series highlights famous historical figures kicking off with Benjamin Franklin in The Maze of Bones, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in One False Note, Toyotomi Hideyoshi in The Sword Thief, Howard Carter in Beyond the Grave, Anastasia Romanov in The Black Circle, and Amelia Earhart in In Too Deep.

In Book 8, “A video has just surfaced that shows reporter William Michaels in an exclusive interview with Gordon Korman, author of Book 8: The Emperor’s Code. Gordon reveals extraordinary information: There are vital hints concealed in the artwork on the cover of Book 8 that could expose the location of the next Clue! Examine the artwork carefully, and your family could find out where the Book 8 Clue is hidden!”

  1. My 10-year-old LOVES this series!!! He’s on the website almost every day.

When he got straight A’s on his report card last week, we asked what gift under $20 he wanted. He only wanted book #7 of the 39 Clues series. And, we’re anxiously anticipating book 8.

He would absolutely LOVE to win books 1 & 2! He only has books 3 & 7. All the others he’s borrowed from the school library.

  2. I think my niece would like to read these because it sounds like a fun series that she might like (she likes action-adventure).

    Thank you for the giveaway!
