Bright Starts 14 Days of Laughter: Giveaway and InGenuity Cradle and Sway Swing Review!

Banner2-300x81

My oldest child is 8 years old, and I cannot belive how far baby products have come since his birth.  One of the products we relied on countless times to keep him happy was the swing.  I can’t count the number of times the swing saved dinner at our house.  It helped  me have two hands available to get the job done while he swung to his heart’s content.  So, I am thrilled to share the swing evolution with the  Cradle and Sway Swing from Bright Start’s InGenuity Collection. This collection offers many options – the full size swing, a portable swing, play yard, and bouncer.

From the website:  The InGenuity™ Collection combines the latest innovations in technology with on-trend styling and plush fabrics to create the most soothing and attractive product offering possible. Each product is designed with unique technologies to provide parents the features that make life with baby even more enjoyable. From a bouncer that bounces by itself, to a swing that runs on one set of batteries for babies entire first year, this collection of innovative gear products raises the bar on feature and fashion.

The first thing I noticed about the swing is how the soft, neutral colors don’t clash with the rest of the house!  Doesn’t it seem like baby equipment not only takes over, but multiplies while  you are asleep?  The muted tones on this swing won’t be screaming at you from the next room!  The Cradle and Sway had simple, step-by-step directions that were easy to follow, even for this Mom.  I had it fully assembled in less than an hour.  I really love the toy anchors on the removeable tray and the choice of melodies or nature sounds to soothe or stimulate Baby while he or she is swinging.

How cute is this? Two soft, plush toys attach to the tray with anchors. Genius!
How cute is this? Two soft, plush toys attach to the tray with anchors. Genius!

Even better:  the cushioned seat swivels so Baby can sway back and forth or side to side.  Of course, the seat cover is removeable and machine washable to keep it fresh and clean, and the Cradle and Sway offers 2 times the battery life of comprable swings.  This was good news, as the only thing I would change  about the swing would be that it had a plug-in adapter other than batteries….but with batteries that last that long, I don’t mind!  While the little one this swing is intended for hasn’t made her debut yet, I am certain she’ll be happily swinging as soon as she’s home!  The Cradle and Sway can safely be used for infants up to 25 pounds.  More features of the Cradle and Sway include:

  • Tru-Speed Technology maintains 6 swing speeds even with baby’s growth.
  • Whisper-quiet technology
  • Comfort recline seat with 2 positions for Baby’s comfort
  • Swing timer has 3 settings: 30, 45, or 60 minutes
  • Headrest and Cushioned Bolster system for ultimate comfort
  • 5 point harness to keep Baby safely in swing
Baby Bliss!

Baby Bliss!

I would  highly recommend the Cradle and Sway Swing to any new Mom!  I am thoroughly impressed with so many of the swing’s features!  Thank you, Bright Start!

I think the best piece of advice is the honesty of “look your days of sleeping in are over”. They truly are. My son has an internal alarm clock that wakes his lil stinker butt up every am at 6:30. The bright side, atleast I don’t have to ever worry about being late to somewhere! :)

Well I am not a Mommy, but I am a Auntie, and a home daycare provider..
Best piece of advice I have ever given.. is call Auntie she will take the wee one so you can sleep.
Worst piece of advice I ever gave was to my SIL @lovemy2doggies She was expecting and we were out at yard sales.. she kept finding all of these little teeny newborn outfits.. I kept saying.. oh no don’t buy those your baby will be much bigger than that, no small babies in our family. My nephew had weighted 9lbs 3oz.. niece had weighed 10 lbs.. I think the smallest to that point was 8lbs 6oz… So she passes on the newborn goes for the bigger stuff.. then gives birth to my beautiful niece 7 weeks early at a hefty… 3lbs. 5 ounces.. Yeah I haven’t lived that down. We had to dress her in Cabbage Patch clothes because 21 years ago you couldn’t walk into most stores and buy preemie clothes..
Thanks.. I hope I win I have a wee daycare babe who could use this/….. I could use this for him.

my best peice of advice i was given. with my first child was to nap when they did. It helped so much since my daughter woke up 5 times a night for the first 4 months.

“Sleep when they sleep” (they meaning my twins)

Ha. Sorry, but you obviously do not know me if you said this, because I cannot let my laundry pile up like some told me to do. NO WAY! LOL.

See, I am the mommy of that hefty 3 pounder with NO clothes that even came close to fitting. I think she was close to 4-6 months old before she could wear the clothes that we bought while we were hitting the yard sales.
