VTech DS6321-3 Cordless Phone : Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The VTech DS6321-3 Cordless Phone system will be a great way to ensure that my husband and I never miss valuable phone calls on both our home phone and cell phones which will bring us a peace of mind.

materials

One VTech DS6321-3 Cordless phone which includes an answering machine and three additional handsets, our busy family and one husband eager to try out the latest technology!  About VTech Phones:

vtechlogo“At VTech, we live by the words “innovation beyond technology.” Our mission is to be the most cost-effective designer and manufacturer of innovative, high-quality consumer electronics products and to distribute them to markets worldwide in the most efficient manner possible.

Within the realm of telecommunication products, our North American operation is one of the top 3 players in the US cordless phone market. VTech’s spirit of innovation has allowed us to assume the roles of pioneers and prime movers in the industry. In 1992 we developed the first fully digital 900 MHz cordless phone, in 2002 VTech introduced the first 5.8 GHz cordless phone and in 2005 we introduced the first integrated VoIP cordless phone.”

results As a family that consists of two parents who both work full time outside the home, you can imagine that our schedule is tight.  With my oldest daughter is on the move with school, dance and cheerleading classes, my husband and I struggle to stay connected with family, friends and even each other. vtechphoneOur cell phones are like another appendage to us!  I feel like we rarely use our home telephone and had even considered disconnecting service. However, I was recently introduced to VTECH phones.  As a Mom, I am very familiar with VTech Kids because my daughters love their innovative products (such as the Tag Reader).  But did you know that VTech’s innovation expands well beyond toys and games?

I was sent a VTech DS6231-3 Cordless phone for review.  Because I was considering disconnecting home telephone service, I was curious about the features on this phone and was anxious to see if this phone could change my mind.  A few specs from the website:

  • DECT 6.0 Digital technology provides the best sound quality, security and range in cordless phones
  • Three handset system—includes 3 handsets and requires only one phone jack (expandable up to 12 handsets!)
  • Caller ID/call waiting*—stores 50 calls
  • Handset speakerphone—enjoy hands-free conversations
  • Protect yourself from identity theft with digital security
  • BLUETOOTH® enabled for connection to cell phones and headsets
  • Download your cellular phonebook directory to this cordless phone system—dial a landline or cellular call from the directory for easy access
  • Landline service not required—works great for cellular only households
  • Two cell phones can be actively connected to the base—cellular calls can be made or received from either of these two active cell phones

After receiving the phone, I followed the instructions for set up which was a snap!  I connected the main base to my home phone line and scattered the remaining two handsets throughout my home.  I like the additional headsets because while the system is cordless, you don’t even have to remember to take a handset with you because they are scattered throughout our high traffic areas.  Lose a handset?  No problem!  There is a locator alarm to help you find them!  Making and receiving calls on our home line was easy and quality of the sound is excellent.  My husband loves the fact that you can check voicemail right from any handset and you do not have to go to the main base to play your messages!

The feature we love the most is the fact that you can connect your Bluetooth enabled cell phone to the handsets.  My husband teaches and always has his phone off or on vibrate throughout the day.  Many times, he forget to turn it on when at home and as a result, misses many phone calls.  Now, when he comes home, he can sync his cell phone to the handsets.  When his cell phone rings, the handsets ring with a different tone from our land line.  Simply answer the handset to connect the call!  Your cell phone can remain on its charger all night long!  Brilliant!  He also loved being able to download his entire address book to our handsets as well.  This eliminates having to find the cell phone to fetch important numbers stored.

hypothesis

Both my husband and I love the VTech DS6231-3 Cordless phone!  In addition to it’s easy setup, we love the convenience of several handsets and the technology of answering cell calls through the handsets.  The price of this phone is $99 and can be purchased directly from VTech Phones.

  1. I love V-tech and we seriously need some new phones! I would put one in my kitchen, one by my computer, and one in the living room. Great giveaway!

  2. I have been a Vtech phone fan for years. Not only do they have lots of great features but they are the longest lasting phones I have ever had. You wouldn’t believe how much physical abuse a handset can get from a house full of the teens but Vtechs were the only ones that held up.
I would put one in my kitchen, one in the bedroom and the 3rd would be in my hubby’s workshop in the garage.

  3. one in the living room, one in my room and one in my daughters room..thanx we need a new phone, ours are old and dont hold a charge for longer than 15 min…

  4. This phone sounds so wonderful. I would place a handset in our bedroom, kitchen and family room. Thank you so much for offering this wonderful prize.

  10. I would place one in the kitchen, one in the living room, and one in our bedroom. I also think the cell phone linking feature is cool too.

  11. I like that the unit is wifi friendly. I would one phone in the living room, one in the family room, and one in the master bedroom. 🙂

  12. This prize would be not only a life-changer but a life-saver! And I already know exactly where I would put the three handsets:

    1. My home office which is also off of the living room and dining room
    2. My husband’s home office which is off of the kitchen
    3. The sunroom/porch which is off of the master bedroom.

    So wonderful!

  13. I’d like to win this for my parents. They’d likely place the 3 handsets in the kitchen, living room, and their bedroom.

  14. I need this so bad! And the fact that it works off of one jack is perfect. I would put 1 in the the living room, and one in each bedroom.

  15. I need another phone – mine is dying! I would put a phone in the living room, master bedroom and the family room.

  17. Great prize! If I won I would put them:

    1. In my home office on the East side of the house.
    2. In the kitchen on the West side of the house.
    3. In my bedroom on the South side of the house.

Too bad there’s not a fourth one to put in the dining room in the North side of the house!

  18. Bedroom, Living Room, near the kitchen – just makes sense for us (and probably quite a few others).

  19. I would love to win this phone[s] !

I would put one in the kitchen , and 2 in the living room – Not many other options in my little house unless I put one in the bathroom or the kids room lol.
Once I move and actually have my own bedroom , I’d put one in there :]

  20. living room, kitchen and dining room… though I don’t expect to always find them there… lol (teenagers…)

  21. one in the master bedroom, one in the kitchen and one in the family room

these would be perfect for our house

  22. I wany this for my son, not me, because his phones are so old. I think he bought them at a second hand store to begin with. I know he would put one handset in the living room, his bedroom, and his daughter’s room. Thanks for the chance to win.

  23. I’d put the main set in the family room; the other two would go in the master bedroom and the kitchen.

  24. We currently own a 2-handset cordless phone, but the kiddos lost one of the handsets, so now we only have one! LOL
I would put 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the living room and 1 in the master bedroom. Thanks for the chance!

  25. I like the DS6222-5 set. I have a set of two cordless phones and one broke, unexplainably. It never got dropped, it’s hooked up properly but nada, zilch, zip. doesn’t work. would love to win! : )

  26. I would put the main handset in the living room and then one in my bedroom and one in my daughter’s bedroom.

  27. This would come in very handy, especially since our kitchen phone (which had our only answering machine on it) just went belly up. I would put these handsets in: our bedroom, kitchen, livingroom.

  28. With three handsets, I would put one in the family room, one in the master bedroom, and one in the kitchen.

  29. The main unit would go in the study where our only phone jack is, one in the kitchen, and one in my bedroom. Thanks!

  30. I’d place one in the kitchen, one downstairs and one in our bedroom. It would be so nice to have 3 headsets!!

    ckbruce(at)rocketmail(dot)com

  31. Okay…I have to admit that I have a fairly small house and probably don’t *need* three handsets. But I ADORE the fact that you can forward your cell to your home phone – fabulous! So, we’d have one handset upstairs in the bedroom, one in the kitchen and one in the living room (yes, less than 20 feet from each other!)

  32. Wonderful! I’d place it in my home office; my husband’s home office and in our family room!

  33. I would place one in the living room, one in the dining room by the computer and one on our kitchen counter; that way, it would be in reach almost anywhere in the house!

  34. Opps, I would put the phones in my bedroom, the next one in the family room, and the main one in the Kitchen!

I follow you and Vtech on Twitter: @OneTwoMany

  35. I would put one in the Living room, our bedroom an the kitchen! those are the rooms I am always in when the phone rings from far away

    vlbelk(at)hotmail.com

  36. Wow, that is so cool! The synching with my cell phone..never knew that the technology exisited. I would say my kitchen, bedroom, and basement. We have cordless phones now (just two) but we can never hear the phone when we are in the basement. This would be much more helpful! So cool!

  37. i would have the main handset in my living room, then number two in the garage, #3 upstairs in my oldest sons room.

  38. I only have 3 rooms in my house, but how perfect is that for this giveaway! and the fact that our phone keeps dying on us! oh I hope I win! 🙂
    annemolino at hotmail dot com

  39. My first one I would place next to my computer the 2nd would go next to my bed and the 3rd would go in my kitchen.

  40. Now don’t laugh…I’d put one in the upstairs bathroom and one in the downstairs bathroom. It never fails that I am indisposed when it decides to ring. The third would go in the family room cause we spend a lot of time there. Great giveaway, thanks.

  41. I just love this phone from VTech! If I won, I would place a handset in my home office, one in the bedroom, and one in the kitchen. Thanks!

  42. I would place them in the kitchen, family room and bedroom!

  44. I’ll put one upstairs in the bedroom, one downstairs by the computer and one in the kitchen. thanks for the contest.

  45. I would place one in the tv room, one in my bedroom and one in my boys room.
Thank you for this give away!

  46. Wow! Where have I been?! I didn’t realize (until now) that you were having this giveaway. I’d probably put one handset in the kitchen, one in our bedroom, and the other in the living room.
    roseinthemorning [at] gmail [dot] com

  47. bedroom, living room and kitchen! i hope to win this giveaway, it will be very useful when we transfer house …

  48. I have a 2 story (plus basement) early 1900’s built house with ONLY ONE JACK.
One would go in our bedroom, one in the dining room (where the jack is) and the other? Hmm. Let’s say the upstairs bathroom, since someone ALWAYS calls when I”m in there!

  49. I have a hundred year old house with one jack. I also have a cat who hates phones. I have to buy new phones every year. When she was younger she used to pick up the answering machine and throw it on the floor. If I got this set(and I really need it) I would put one on the computer desk in that room, I would put one in my bedroom and one in the living room. All in places she can’t reach.

  50. I would put one in the kitchen, one in the family room, and one in the master bedroom. Thanks for the chance to win!

  51. I don’t even have to think about where to put 3 handsets! I know where we need them the most: computer room (I spend a lot of time there); master bedroom (please don’t call after 9pm) and the downstairs family room (because someone always calls just after the movie starts).

  52. I would have one handset in the kitchen, one in the den, and one in our bedroom. I love that they’re bluetooth enabled!

  53. These are nice phone systems. We would place one handset in the kitchen, one in the bedroom, and one in the living room. Thank you for the great give-away.

  54. I would place the main phone in the kitchen, one in my bedroom and the other in my office. Would love to have the VTech D56321 cordless phones.

  55. I would put one phone in the living room, one in the kitchen, and one in the master bedroom. Thanks!!

  56. Very cool prize! I would put the VTech DS6321 handsets in the living room, the bedroom and the kitchen.

    Thank you. 🙂

  57. They have so many options and features! It would be hard to choose, so I hope I win and they will choose for me, hehehe.

We have three handsets now, but are phone is dying….perfect timing to win one, I hope I’ll be lucky and random.org will smile on me. We put our handsets in 1. kitchen 2. hubby’s den 3. bedroom

    Thanks for a handy giveaway!

  58. I would place the three phones: one in the kitchen, one in the den and one in my bedroom. That would be perfect fit in my house.

  59. I would put the main unit in our living room kitchen combo. The second would go in our bedroom. The third would go in our basement.

  60. One in the bedroom, the second in the living room by the TV, the third in the basement laundry room.
    Thanks

  61. I would love to win this! I would put one in the kitchen, one in my room and one in the living room.

  62. I love the VTech DS6231-3 Cordless phone too! I wore mine out. I’d put them in the den, the blue bedroom and the green bedroom.

  63. I’d put the handsets in the kitchen, the family room, and in the upstairs master bedroom. The one in the kitchen needs to stay away from the kitchen sink – we’ve lost phones in there before.

  64. I love this phone you are giving away. We have a Vtech cordless in our home office, and sometimes it has some trouble, now that it’s getting older. I’d put one of the new ones in the home office. One I’d put in the family room, because it’s very hard to hear the phone ring if you’re out there. The other one would probably go in the kitchen; we have a corded phone in there now, and it crackles a lot. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it.

  65. I’d place one in the kitchen, one in the hallway, and one in our bedroom.

NEED this SO badly. Down to one with no battery cover. Been that way for long time now.
