My husband and I make it a priority to read to our children nightly. During the month of December, we like to select books with a holiday theme to get the girls excited about Christmas and learn it’s true meaning. Through the years (and many book fairs), we have compiled a nice collection of Christmas stories.
I was very excited to add “Tinycandy’s Gift” to our collection this year! From the press release:
“Tinycandy’s Gift is a new Christmas story tracing the origins of the popular holiday treat, the candy cane. For Susan Estes’ third book, she explains that it is children’s differences that make them special to the world and highlights through vivid illustrations just how important one person can be.
Tinycandy is an elf growing up in the North Pole who always felt left out because he walks with a limp. My daughters both sat and listened to the book intently. It was the perfect length for a bedtime story and the illustrations were beautiful. I also liked the message conveyed in the story as I feel it is important to accept everyone for their differences. This book also comes with a read along CD which made the story come to life! I think this book made an excellent addition to our collection!
