Moving Comfort: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The support tank from Moving Comfort will provide a comfortable garment for me to wear during exercise without having to wear additional support which ads bulk and restricts movement.

One Alexis Support Tank in Plum Secret Garden from Moving Comfort and a Mom that is excited to have comfortable clothes to get moving in!  About Moving Comfort:

movingcomfortlogo“The how doesn’t matter: running, walking, weight training, yoga, martial arts, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, horseback riding, golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer, inline skating…we naturally understand and design clothes for a woman’s body, whatever that body was meant to do. We encourage women to never feel limited by anything.

We understand the kind of support and freedom needed in clothing, and how that clothing should feel against the skin. We know what keeps women warm and dry when it’s cold and cool and dry when it’s hot. Knowledge, expertise and high standards shape the fit, fabric and function of every garment we design. Our care and unwillingness to compromise is what makes our products high quality and reliable.

Keeping fit improves every aspect of a woman’s life: reducing the incidence of heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, depression, teen pregnancies, dropouts, and drug and alcohol abuse. If a girl or woman is more comfortable when she’s working out, she’s more likely to keep at it. That’s why we view our technically superior garments — and great fit of each piece — as a means to encourage women to get fit and stay fit.

The important thing is that every woman finds her Moving Comfort.

results For the past few months, I have been sticking to the Weight Watchers Momentum Plan and trying to get active to increase my weight loss.  In addition to running after my two young daughters, I teach an advanced adult tap class as well, so there is always a time when I need comfortable activewear.  Trying to find  a bra to wear that adequately supports and doesn’t stick out of my activewear has been a challenge…and I am NOT a fan of layering.  So, when I was asked to review the Moving Comfort solution, I knew it could definitely serve it’s purpose in my life!

movingcomfort

The Alexis Support Tank is just what I need!  This modified racer-back tank has lightly padded support, shaping and modesty, mesh at high sweat areas, stabilized straps and a racer-back design for comfort and full range of motion.  I was completely impressed by the construction and design of this support tank!  Check out the inside which is much more than your standard “shelf-bra!”

The tanks are fitted by bra size and while I was on the smaller end of a Size Small and expected the top to be a bit big, it fit perfectly. So, when ordering, I would be generous with size.

hypothesis

I love the Alexis Support Tank from Moving Comfort!  The support is perfect and I do not have to layer a sports bra underneath this tank which makes me VERY happy!  This tank would be perfect for my dance class, a yoga class, or even jogging!

Great Gift Ideas from Disney Toys!

My oldest daughter is about to turn 5 years old and if she could ask for only one thing for Christmas, it would probably be Hannah Montana. No, not a Hannah Montana CD or DVD, but the ACTUAL Hannah Montana! She absolutely loves Hannah, so I am hoping a few Disney Hannah Montana Toys will suffice for the Holidays.

mixlightsShe has also asked for an iPod, and while I think she is a bit young for the iPod, I was fortunate to run across the Disney Mix Lights, a digital audio player for kids. By visiting Mix Central, you can download your child’s favorite Disney songs (from artists such as Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Mitchel Musso), TV episodes and music videos and sync them right to the MP3 Player. With 2 GB memory, the Mix Lights can hold up to 1,000 songs and comes with everything you need to get started including a rechargeable battery and ear buds. The Disney Mix Lights also pulses lights to the beat of the music to add more fun and flair for your child. Purchase this great holiday gift at Toys R’ Us for only $39.99!

scooterAnother great gift option for your little Hannah Montana fan, if the Disney Hannah Montana Folding Scooter from Huffy!
It features a rear fender foot brake, comfortable foam grips, transparent pop stark sparkle wheels, and vibrant fun and flirty Hannah Montana Graphics.  How fun!  The scooter can be purchased from Toys R’ Us for only $24.99!  I think it may take some practice, by Lily will get the hang of this thing quickly.  I love the fact that this scooter folds up for easy storage and is height adjustable (Lily is on the shorter side).

All done with big gifts and just looking for stocking stuffers?  The Toy Story Buddy Packs and Cars Die Cast cars sell for under $10 and are a hot item this season!  And don’t forget the new movie, “The Princess and the Frog” was just released!  We plan to get Lily some movie tickets for her stocking!

Happy Shopping!

Night at the Museum 2: Review and Giveaway

When the weather gets cold outside, my husband and I love to have movie nights on the weekend!  We pick a night, a warm blanket, some popcorn and a great movie and enjoy some time together sans kids!

We recently selected “Night at the Museum:  Battle of the Smithsonian“, released on December 1st, for our movie night extravaganza.  My hubby and I both love Ben Stiller (who doesn’t love “There’s Something about Mary?”), so we couldn’t wait to check this movie out!

nightmuseumA brief synopsis:

History is larger than life — and twice as funny — in this monumental comedy sequel.  Ben Stiller (MeetThe Parents, There’s Something About Mary) stars as Larry Daley, a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come alive after dark.  But now Larry’s nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum… and the world! From returning director Shawn Levy (Cheaper By The Dozen), the film also stars Amy Adams (Enchanted), Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Ricky Gervais (“The Office”), Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) and Jonah Hill (Super Bad).”

I love releasing the stress of the week with laughter, and this movie definitely worked for us!  I have not seen the first movie, but I would love to go back and check it out now!  Night at the Museum:  Battle at the Smithsonian on DVD and Blu-ray would make an excellent stocking stuffer for your movie buff this year, and fortunately, I have FIVE copies to giveaway!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cooking.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is no secret that the readers of The Not-So-Blog generally do NOT come here to find insightful cooking tips or fabulous intricate recipes.  But, lately I actually HAVE ventured into the kitchen quite a bit when I am inspired by a bakeware review or new recipe and believe it or not, they have not ALL been disasters!  Don’t look so shocked!

When I do decide to get re-aquainted with my kitchen, I need some encouragement and lots of advice, and who better to get advice from that Celebrity Chefs?  Step into the new Celebrity Kitchen and take a look at the Celebrity Zone on Cooking.com which is specifically designed to introduce you to Top Celebrity Chefs, their products and inspiring recipes.

Being from the South myself, I gravitate to the home cooking of the fabulous Paula Deen.  On Cooking.com, you can see the latest tools and product  reviews of Paula’s cookware and bakeware lines.  I especially love the Kid’s Cookware set!  My daughters would love this as a gift from Santa (and I guess I should teach them how to cook early in life!).  Not sure what to cook in her products?  Make sure you check out the recipes, too!

Toothbrush Hygiene Helper Review

I am a self-proclaimed germophobe.  It’s a running joke between Bridgette’s husband and myself that I would bathe my children in hand sanitizer if I could.  One of the things I am super obsessed with keeping clean is the kids’ toothbrushes.  They are constantly getting replaced because I toss them after an illness, I find them on the floor, or my son uses his to clean his Hot Wheels.  While I do store them in a toothbrush holder, I never really thought about the air they were exposed to until I was asked to review the Toothbrush Hygiene Helper.

toothbrush 2

The Toothbrush Hygiene Helper was invented by a mom who was concerned about all the bacteria and germs floating around a bathroom that can land on exposed toothbrushes.   From the creator Fannie LeFlore:  “Toothbrush Hygiene Helper is a perfect way to get some peace of mind knowing that you’re limiting exposure to germs and even flu viruses such as H1N1.  I created TBH when I noticed just how exposed toothbrushes are in the bathroom when they’re stored in cups and other open containers. I had already heard about germs and bacteria from toilet-flushing and dirty hands, but there’s also dust, hair spray and cleaning products and other environmental elements in a bathroom that can land on toothbrushes that we put in our mouth. “

Can I get an “Ew?”  The Toothbrush Hygiene Helper is very user friendly and comes in a variety of colors.  It’s not an eyesore on the bathroom counter while doing its job of keeping the toothbrushes sanitary.  You can also choose to mount it to the wall.  The Toothbrush Hygiene Helper is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning when needed, and has strategically-placed vents to keep toothbrushes dry and fresh.

I would definetely recommend the TBH to a family member or friend.  It’s inexpensive and practical, and would be a great and practical gift for anyone on your list, especially for those with children!  I am thankful that my kids’ toothbrushes are now better protected from all the “yuck” floating around the bathroom!  Thanks, TBH!
