Happy 70th Birthday Madeline: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The 2009 release of the 70th Anniversary Madeline doll will be a great way to introduce Lily to this classic children’s book series written by American author, Ludwig Bemelmans.

materials One Madeline 70th Anniversary Doll packaged in a special gift box perfect for collecting.   About the Madeline doll:

madeline70thsmall

Winner of Fall 2009 National Parenting Center Seal of Approval and packaged in a see-through can bag with a pink rope handle, this limited edition collector’s doll is dressed in a delft blue dress adorned with famous Parisian locales from the original book.  Madeline’s beautiful red hair is tied on one side with a satiny blue bow.  Note her lace-trimmed dress with blue accents.  It’s hard to believe anyone dressed so sweetly might wind up in a bit of mischief.  With a bright smile, this plush pose-able doll is sure to be a constant companion.  Madeline stands 13.5” tall.

results I can remember reading the story of Madeline as a little girl and falling in love with the characters.  But with all the new books and story lines, I had forgotten to share this classic story with my own daughter, Lily.  When I was asked to review the plush Madeline doll, the memories came back and I couldn’t wait to read it to her.

I chose to review the 70th Anniversary Madeline Doll (she looks GREAT for her age!) mainly because I knew that Lily would love the fact that the clothes are removable and more outfits are available for purchase including a pajama set….and I was right!  Lily loved playing with Madeline but became even more excited when I relayed the story to her.  I think Santa may have to deliver a new outfit for her Madeline toy!

summary

Lily loved playing with her 70th Anniversary Madeline doll!  The removable clothes were a big hit (although the shoes are not removable).  Madeline is more than just a doll…it’s a tradition!  You can find this special edition online at boutiques such as Live and Learn and La Petite Tica for $25.
