Leapfrog Zippity: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The Leapfrog Zippity will be a great way to get my kids moving (rain or shine!) while the learn important skills such as math and reading with their favorite Disney characters!

materials One Leapfrog Zippity, a mat and bopper (included), 8 preloaded interactive games featuring Disney characters, the Princess and the Frog game, and an enthusiastic 4 year old!   About Leapfrog Zippity:

zippityBring Playhouse Disney to your house with Zippity, the new high-energy learning system that gets preschoolers dancing, jumping, playing and learning with Disney characters they love! The Zippity system introduces preschool curriculum through full-body play and learning. Using the interactive bopper and mat, children can stomp, swing, bop and march, driving the learning with their arms and legs!

The Zippity system comes with eight built-in games featuring the popular Playhouse Disney characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins and Handy Manny. All eight built-in learning activities bring the characters to life on your TV through high-quality animations and feature two levels of play for hours of active learning fun.

A built-in Learning Path lets parents see the skills their child is exploring as they play, or parents can create a personal LeapFrog® Learning Path online for more in-depth insights and learning ideas.”

results I will admit that I have always wanted a Wii Fit!  I think it would be an excellent way for me and the kids to get some exercise when the weather does not permit us to go outdoors.  So when Leapfrog asked if I would review the brand new Zippity, I jumped at the chance!  At first glance, this toy looks like a Wii Fit for kids.  Lily was totally engrossed in the game, both mentally and physically.  The setup was very easy (although it does require 8 C batteries), and Lily quickly learned how to control the system.  Unlike handheld games, the Zippity does not require fine motor skills, so Lily was able to master the controls and did not get frustrated.

The Princess and the Frog game was so incredibly cute and perfect for your preschooler!  On Level 1, Lily had to use letter recognition skills to choose paths for the Frog and make Princess Tiana dance with her Prince.  Watching the movie come to life as she chose the correct answers was a spectacular reward!

As a Mom, I love the fact that I can monitor her progress as well.

summary

The Leapfrog Zippity was a HUGE hit for my 4 year old!  This toy allowed her to exert her energy by dancing and jumping while learning with her favorite characters!  One of Lily’s stocking stuffers this holiday season will definitely be a new game for her Zippity (there are currently 4 to choose from)!  The Zippity can be purchased online for $79.99 with additional games running around $24.99.  Great gift!
