I can’t believe my baby is headed to preschool in a few short days!  In an effort to make her excited about her new journey, we have perused many “Back to School” aisles at local stores and browsed online catalogs to make sure she has the gear she needs to be successful.  So, I was thrilled to be introduced to Oompa.com!   When Lily received her Flamingo Allerhand Lunch Tote, he first words were, “Ooooh!  Just like the big girls have at school!”  And shortly after this exclamation came, “It’s PINK, Mommy!”  She was thrilled!  As a Mom, I love that it has a large, easy to open zipper.  Lily was able to open the tote with ease on her own.  I also like the fact that there are several compartments to organize her lunch including a little pouch on the inside that I think will be great for drink money.  The shoulder strap is adjustable so it fits her just perfectly and the strap can even be made into a backpack!  Genius!

Surf Sweets: Review and Giveaway

My children, like most children, are candy monsters.  They love candy in any shape or form they can get it.  In fact, Em’s first sentence, at the age of 15 months was, “More more chocolate Momma!”  Nicolas hoards his Halloween candy for months and won’t share it with a soul.  So, I am not kidding when I say they love it.  Like any good mother, I try to limit it.  I mean, candy isn’t good for them, is it?  Well, if it’s Surf Sweets, it is!  Surf Sweets gummy candies are made with organic fruit juice and sweeteners, have no artificial colors or flavors, and are one of the only candies made without corn syrup!  They are also chock full of Vitamin C!  From the website:  “Since we love candy and eat it regularly, we thought it made sense to offer candy that not only tastes fantastic, but that is a better choice for you, your family and for the environment.”

School started this week and so that means once we hit the door the kids are clamoring for a snack.  Normally, I would never allow them candy for an after school snack, and of course this makes me the meanest mother on the planet.  So, the kids were overjoyed (and shocked) to try the Gummy Bears and Sour Worms that Surf Sweets was kind enough to send us.

Both my husband and I work full time outside the home, so we are always on the lookout for quick and easy meals.  However, we find ourselves in a cycle of making the same meals over and over until they lose their appeal.  We were both excited to review the new Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees!

From the press release, “Each frozen entrée has all the ingredients needed to prepare a great-tasting, complete Chinese meal for 2 in only 14 minutes! They come in five delicious flavors including Orange Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Sweet & Spicy Shrimp. Additionally, all of the entrees have no added MSG!”

The steps to making the meal were incredibly simple:  stir fry chicken, stir fry veggies with orange sauce, cover for 6 minutes, heat rice in microwave and serve.  Honestly, I am not big on Chinese food, but this entree was WONDERFUL.  Both my husband and I absolutely loved it!  It was so much fun eating with the chopsticks (even though we don’t really know how to correctly hold them!).  I would definitely try the other varieties of Wanchai Ferry!

Once Renee returned she offered up her opinion on how the bag worked for her.  First, she noted that the bag comes with a padded case for her laptop which ensured that her laptop would travel safely.  The front flap is just for decoration, but the inside of the bag had an extra pocket and places to store your pens or other personal items.  The handles were long enough to carry the bag on her shoulder and were comfortable.  This laptop bag was big enough to accommodate Renee’s needs on her trip as well.
