Pillsbury “You be the Judge!” Giveaway

I will be the first to admit that I am NOT a wiz in the kitchen!  I won’t even pretend that I do even half of the cooking in this house.  So, I am always in awe at the people who can go beyond following a simple recipe and actually create award winning dishes.

For the 44th year, Pillsbury is hosting a Bake-Off where participants create original recipes in one of four recipe categories.  Each recipe must include two of the eligible products and will be judged on taste, appearance, creativity and American appeal.  The winner receives $1 million dollars!!

While the entry period has closed for this contest, Pillsbury is allowing the general public, for the first time EVER, to help choose the winner!  Each week from now through October 1st, two of the Top 20 recipes will go head to head at the Pillsbury Bake-Off website. The Top 10 recipes will then earn a spot  in the final competition, April 11-13, 2010, in Orlando, Florida. Voters must be registered members of www.pillsbury.com and 18 years of age or older as of May 1, 2009, to participate.

  2. I LOVE Pillsbury stuff and have always wanted to enter the bake-off but never did. My elementary teacher from NC won the year BEFORE they started giving the million dollar prize lol

I think 1994-She got a kitchen makeover and I think some small amount of cash. I love that this year the public helps to choose the winner also!

My fave recipe to try would be the Spiced Creamy Caramel-Peanut Torte! YUMMY!

    Thanks for a great contest!

  3. I let my granddaughters choose their favorite. They chose the Chocolate-Caramel Layer Bars, go figure.

  4. The Cheesy Potato Corn Cakes sound delicious and a great improvement to the old school classic potato cakes.

  5. I have my late-mother’s Pillsbury Cookbook that I use three or four times a week. It’s at least thirty-five years old. There are so many wonderful recipes in it, I could never choose my favorite. I know that the new cookbook is just as good – it’s Pillsbury.

  6. The Chicken Macadamia Appetizers sound good but the Honey Nut Snap peas even sounds easier. And I love snap peas.

  7. The peanut butter crunch brownines sound really yummy. I’d have to make them at someone elses house or I’d eat the whole pan!

  8. Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest Pepper-Jack Crescent Twists with Salsa-Ranch Dip
    sound real good to me!

  9. I went and looked at some of the main dishes and they did not look to tasty to me. I would have to say the Peanut Butter Crunch Brownies looks yummy.

  10. I would like the Fluffy Lemon-Rasberry treat it looks great for summer

  11. I have all the Bake-Off cookbooks – even the hard to find Bake Off #1 (paid waaaay to much for it on eBay to complete my collection) and have tried a ton of recipes. Mexican Bubble Pizza is a favorite in our house. I would like to try the Coffee Crunch Chocolate Tart.

  12. There are so many tasty looking recipes that now I’m hungry. I would go for the Canadian Bacon-Apple Pizza.

  13. I would love to try the Pepper-Jack Crescent Twists with Salsa-Ranch Dip
    Sounds delicious!
