I will be the first to admit that I am NOT a wiz in the kitchen! I won’t even pretend that I do even half of the cooking in this house. So, I am always in awe at the people who can go beyond following a simple recipe and actually create award winning dishes.
For the 44th year, Pillsbury is hosting a Bake-Off where participants create original recipes in one of four recipe categories. Each recipe must include two of the eligible products and will be judged on taste, appearance, creativity and American appeal. The winner receives $1 million dollars!!
While the entry period has closed for this contest, Pillsbury is allowing the general public, for the first time EVER, to help choose the winner! Each week from now through October 1st, two of the Top 20 recipes will go head to head at the Pillsbury Bake-Off website. The Top 10 recipes will then earn a spot in the final competition, April 11-13, 2010, in Orlando, Florida. Voters must be registered members of www.pillsbury.com and 18 years of age or older as of May 1, 2009, to participate.
To encourage you to go vote, Pillsbury is offering TWO Not-So-Blog readers a Pillsbury prize pack including a magazine of past Bake-Off® recipes and a Pillsbury Doughboy giggle doll. After looking through this magazine, my mouth was watering and I have already selected the cake I want for my upcoming birthday! The magazine includes such yummy recipes as “Caesar Chicken Salad Squares”, “Chicken Fajita Pizza”, and “Caramel In-Between Fudge Cake.” You do not want to miss these recipes!

I have my late-mother’s Pillsbury Cookbook that I use three or four times a week. It’s at least thirty-five years old. There are so many wonderful recipes in it, I could never choose my favorite. I know that the new cookbook is just as good – it’s Pillsbury.
