My Gym at Home DVD: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The My Gym at Home DVD will allow me to spend quality time with my daughters while promoting fitness in a fun and exciting way.

materials One My Gym at Home:  Fun with Monique DVD, two daughters, one Mom and a clean living room floor.  About My Gym:

mygymlogo
Hosted by My Gym personality Monique Vranesh, My Gym At Home is a fitness title program aimed at children 3 and under featuring exercises designed to assist in the formation and development of children’s motor skills, flexibility and social skills.  My Gym’s team of children’s fitness professionals joined together with BabyFirstTV’s educational experts to develop and produce My Gym At Home bringing young families fun My Gym exercises that parents can perform at home together with their babies and toddlers.”

methods After dinner, I cleared out the living room (a feat in itself!) so my two daughters and I could spend some time together and exercise.  I began the DVD and both girls came running as soon as they heard the music.  We all did the entire series which is about 45 minutes long.

results The DVD states that the series is best for kids from the ages of 6 months to 3 years.  So, Lily being 4 years old, adapted the exercises to suit her ability level.  The episodes, which appear on BabyFirst TV Channel, took us through various exercises, but the girls’ favorite was the headstand!  Monique keeps the episodes fun and engaging by using silly songs and lots of chances to interact with your little ones.  Lily, Aubrie and I got share many laughs, tickles and hugs for almost an hour which makes the DVD invaluable!

summary The My Gym at Home DVD was perfect for my 1 year old.  I was able to do all of the exercises with ease.  Even though Lily (age 4) was too old for the series, she loved “helping” Mommy do the exercises and she even played like she was Aubrie’s Mommy for some of the easier episodes.  I wish we had a My Gym location near me!  It would be such fun to take classes with Aubrie!  To see if there is a class available in your hometown, visit My Gym.

references The DVD is produced by My Gym Children’s Fitness Center and is distributed by BabyFirstTV Home Video.  It can be found nationally at major retailers such as Target, Borders and Barnes & Noble for $15.95.  It can also be purchased directly at BabyFirstTV.
