Introducing Jennifer!

Not-So-Blog readers, this is Jennifer.  Jennifer, meet The Not-So-Blog readers.  Jennifer and I have known each other our entire lives…..literally.  I am bringing her on here at The Not-So-Blog for a few reasons:

1.) I desperately need help.

2.)  She is one of my dearest (and oldest) friends.

3.) She cracks me up!

Please welcome her to the blog!  I know you will love her posts and product reviews (and if you don’t, just send me an email and I will fire her…haha…just kidding, Jen!)

Hi everyone!  First, I would like to thank Bridgette for asking me (Hi!  I’m Jennifer, by the way) to take part in her blog.  Bridgette and I have literally been friends since birth as we grew up across the street from one another, and our parents remain friends still today.  Her family has become part of my extended family and vice versa.  Our life long frienship is something I cherish very much!  After 34 + years of being friends, I think we know each other pretty well!  Now our children are friends and it is something I will never take for granted.  How many people can say they’ve been friends that long?
I am the mother of two children, a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter.  My husband and I have been married for 10 years and stay busy with our careers and the kids.  I am an elementary school teacher and my husband owns his own residential and commercial construction company.  Needless to say life is nuts, but good!
Being a mom has been my greatest joy in life.  When I was young I always dreamed of being a mom, and with my Type-A personality I had it all mapped out in my head what it would be like!    I felt like the happiest person alive when I found out I was going to become a mom, and then doubly blessed 2 years later to get to do it again.  What no one told me, and what I did not envision, was how TOUGH it would be….and how expensive!   In my mental picture I would be June Cleaver…..immaculate house, perfectly behaved children, 5 course dinner on the table every night….yeah, I was insane.  Reality means I work outside the home 9 months out of the year, and the time that I am not at work is usually spent shuttling children around to and from activities, running dreaded errands, and trying to stay on top of everything else.  Dinner sometimes means cereal and hey, that’s ok!  At least we have food to eat, right?  And while my children aren’t quite Cleaver-perfect all the time, I love them to bits.  So, I am always on the lookout for things to make my life as a mom and wife easier, make my children happier, and maybe even make me a little bit more “hip”….’cause you know, now that I think about it, June Cleaver was kind of dull!
Anyway, I hope y’all enjoy what I have to say, because I like to give my opinion…..maybe a little too much!   I think the Not-So-Blog is a great resource because I am always telling my friends about things that I find to keep in my arsenal of secret Mommy weapons, and seek out their opinions before buying stuff!  Hopefully I can contribute something useful to you guys out there!

  1. Hi Jennifer, welcome! Bridgette’s blog is one of my favorites. I look forward to reading more from you. You have a beautiful family.

  2. Hi Jennifer, welcome… looking forward to reading your blogs. I want you to know that I am in awe by teachers, they are the most noble of all professions! I give you credit for what you do, it is something that I could never do – God bless you!

    Enjoy your summer……

  3. Jennifer – I am so happy B asked you to help! She’s shared some of your stories with us on occasion and they were hilarious and I am sure the bloggers will enjoy them too! When I first looked at the picture of you and your kids I was struck by how much you look like your mom. I always thought you resembled your dad’s side of the family but I could have mistaken that picture of you as your mom and the kids, if there ages were reversed, you and your brother Craig. (dare I say it, Little Craig!) Enjoy these years, as your mother and I did and enjoy blogging. Love ya! Mrs. Diane
