Sensodyne Pronamel for Children: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis Sensodyne ProNamel for Children toothpaste will be another way to help protect Lily’s teeth against cavities.

materials

One tube of Sensodyne ProNamel for Children in a gentle mint flavor, a toothbrush and Lily’s teeth!  About the product:

sensodyne

Kid-popular foods and drinks like soda, fruit juice, ketchup, raisins, citrus fruit and yogurt can contribute to acid erosion, a growing and irreversible problem. Fortunately, there are a few simple things parents can do to protect their children, including limiting acidic foods and beverages, and encouraging them to drink juices with a straw.  Sensodyne ProNamel™ for Children is the first children’s toothpaste scientifically proven to re-harden tooth enamel, helping to protect against acid erosion as well as cavities.”

methods In the morning and at bedtime, Lily brushed her teeth (with some help from Mom) with her new Sensodyne ProNamel for Children toothpaste.

0021

results Lily had no problems with this toothpaste.  She was able to handle the tube unassisted and place the toothpaste on her brush.  She definitely likes the taste!  I think the highest compliment I can give this toothpaste is that Lily have up her Dora toothpaste for the Sensodyne ProNamel for Children!  Fortunately, Lily does not have any cavities, and I hope this toothpaste helps to protect her little teeth for a long time!

summary Did you know that 9 out of 10 pediatric dentists see signs of acidic erosion in their patients? Eliminating all acidic foods from your child’s diet is an unreasonable request.  While I don’t let my daughter dive into unlimited amounts of sugary and acidic foods, I don’t ban them from her diet either.  As a Mom, it is instinctive to want to protect your child, so it is nice to know that there is a great toothpaste out there that will help to protect her sensitive enamel even if she has an occassional juice (or Tootsie Roll!).

TeeJuice Fabric Markers: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis TeeJuice Fabric Markers will make for a fun project for Lily while she is at home with Daddy during her Summer Break.

materials

An assortment of TeeJuice Fabric Markers (broad, fine and the new medium tips), a plain white tee, and Lily’s imagination.  About TeeJuice:

teejuicelogo Jacquard Products has been producing paints and dyes for professional artists for 30 years, so the TeeJuice Markers produce stunning, long-lasting colors while retaining the softness of the original fabric.

TeeJuice works wonderfully on T-shirts, but that’s not its limit. They can also be used on a wide variety of fabrics including cotton, synthetic fibers, canvas and leather. Designs are even washable, if you set the color with an iron for 2-3 minutes.”

methods From the minute I unpacked this box, Lily was itching to get her hands on these markers!  She quickly picked out a tee she wanted to work on and saved it for the next day.  While I was away at work, my husband did the art project with the TeeJuice markers with Lily.

0051 Lily with the broad tip TeeJuice Marker

results

Lily absolutely loved doing this project.  Because the tools were non-toxic markers, instead of paints, she was able to complete this project with little or no help from an adult.  As you can see in the picture, she decide to write her (and her little sister’s) name on the front of her shirt with the medium tip markers.  And she is using the broad tip to make “grapes” on her shirt (she’s 4….cut her some slack….LOL!).

summary From a Mom perspective, I loved the TeeJuice Fabric Markers!  This project literally made NO mess and Lily was able to wear her shirt almost immediately.  We set the design with an iron and washed.  The markers were indeed permanent.  You can also submit your TeeJuice artwork to win prizes! TeeJuice markers are available in 3 different tip sizes and 8 vibrant colors in each size.

references You can find where to buy the TeeJuice markers by using the store locator.  They can be purcahsed individually or as box sets.  But, you can WIN them right HERE!  TeeJuice has generously donated a box set of your choice (broad, medium or fine tip) to one lucky Not-So-Blog winner!

Skin Free: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis The Skin Free body products will make my skin as smooth and silky as Aubrie’s!  Creating my own mixture of the liquid soap and sugar scrub will be twice as heavenly!

materials

One 12 oz. bottle of Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Liquid Soap, a 12 oz. Sweet and Smooth Sugar Scrub, a warm bath and a happy Mama!  From Julie, the owner of  Skin Free:

skinfreelogo

Working in a typical retail pharmacy setting, I was constantly frustrated when asked to recommend products for patients with difficult skin problems, especially those with fragrance allergies. I recognized a void in the market and knew that I could offer effective and affordable products to fill it. Atopic dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis are life-long conditions and need to be addressed for the long term. Patients with diabetes or renal disease, pregnant women, babies, the elderly, and patients treated with radiation therapy can all benefit from quality natural products. Even people who just have dry, sensitive skin can appreciate wholesome natural skincare products.

methods I was very anxious to test out these products because I was looking forward to taking a bath ALONE and hiding in the bathroom to “work!”  While showering, I used the Extra Moisturizing Liquid Soap followed by a quick sugar scrub of my legs.  I sunk into a bath after showering and decided to take the recommendation of mixing the two products together.

skinfree1

results The Extra Moisturizing Liquid soap was thinner than expected, but it definitely lathered and rinsed quite well.  After mixing the sugar scrub (if it separates during shipping, don’t be alarmed), I used it on my legs.  It left my legs feeling incredibly soft and smooth.  In this Louisiana heat, my legs are very dry and itchy, but after combining the liquid soap WITH the sugar scrub…oh my…it was GREAT!  My legs were so smooth and felt very moisturized.

summary Skin Free is the place to go to get quality spa products if you have allergies, eczema, or sensitive skin.  The products are 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free.  Check out the incredible bar soap, butter stick,  and eczema relief kit!  After testing the products, I can definitely say that my skin did feel very smooth and moisturized.

Toddler Virtues: Review and Coupon

hypothesis The Toddler Virtues tee will not only look incredibly cute on Lily but will help turn her vice into a virtue.

materials One Toddler Virtues tee with the saying “Courage” and one 4 year old who finds the fear in just about everything.  About Toddler Virtues:

toddlervirtueslogo1 I feel that to make the world a better place, we need to start with our children. I propose that we bring back virtues. What if we instilled virtues like kindness, courage, tolerance, gratitude and patience into our toddlers? What if eventually these virtues became not only a word, but a way of life? What would happen if these virtuous toddlers became virtuous school aged children, young adults and our leaders of tomorrow? Maybe instead of seeing school shootings sprung by hatred, cowards for authority figures or wars arising from intolerance and impatience, we’ll see new and gracious generations make decisions based on respect and virtues. Just imagine what a world that would be!

methods Monika, the Founder and President of Toddler Virtues, devised a 5 step plan that comes with every tee.  I followed the plan to a “tee” with my oldest daughter, Lily.  The 5 steps include:  Read the virtue, define the virtue, tell a story related to the virtue, repeat story when shirt is worn, and pass it on!

results First, a little background:  Swim lessons last summer with Lily did not go well.  She was terrified of the water and it was a fight to get her in the water each and every week.  But, it is important to me that she learn to swim because she is getting to the age where she may go to a friends house and water safety is very important.  So, off we went to swim lessons again this year.  To my amazement she did incredibly well!  Sh eis jumping in the pool and swimming half way across by herself!  However, at the end of each class, she has the opportunity to go down a water slide.  Lily freezes up and refuses to try the slide.  I just hate the fact that fear is holding her back from having fun and enjoying life!  So, I brought the Toddler Virtues tee out last night and explained to her what Courage means.  We talked about how fear can hold you back and Lily really opened up about why she is so scared.  I put the shirt on her and immediately her face lit up like she had super-powers!  Her shirt reads, “Courage.  Being brave even when doing something you are afraid to do.

008

And guess what?!?  Today……she went down the slide!

summary I absolutely love the Toddler Virtues Tees!  Not only for it’s quality, but for it’s message.  There are shirts for many virtues including kindness, gratitude, patience, courage and tolerance.  In my experience, the shirt was so much more than a garment.  It allowed Lily to break free from the fear and “slide” into fun!  Another great aspect of the Toddler Virtues Tee is that the company encourages toddlers to “pass on” their virtue once they learn and adopt the practice of their virtue.

references The Toddler Virtues Tees can be purchased directly from their website.  The toddler shirts are $20 and Mom shirts are $22.  The patience shirt is now available in long sleeves for $22.  If your order and let Monika know that you found her from the Not-So-Blog, you will receive 20% back on your order!
