KidCards: Review and Giveaway

One of the most treasured gifts I received this Mother’s Day was a handmade card from my daughter, Lily.  She was so proud of her card that she could NOT wait to give it to me and ended up telling me all about it before I could open the envelope!

She enjoyed making my card so much, that she asked to create some for her Grandmothers.   It was the perfect opportunity to review the products by KidCards!

About KidCards (from the press release):

KidCards® are unique activity books that streamline the homemade card-making process. Each cardstock page can be removed from the book and folded into a greeting card. No more wondering, “Where do I begin?” KidCards give kids the outline for making a creative, fun, one-of-a-kind greeting card. KidCards give parents, teachers and caregivers an easier way to be creative with their kids, while fostering the satisfaction of making something from the heart.”

Lily received Volume 1: Coloring Cards that are geared for the younger child.  These cards have predrawn images that are ready to be decorated and colored.  Lily quickly paged through the spiral bound book and found lots of pictures that were of interest to her.  She loved coloring, signing the card, and placing it in the provided envelope.  She also loved decoarting the envelope with stamps!

For the older child, Volume 2 features freehand drawing frames.  The blank card is simply framed with themed decorations, leaving more space for freehand drawing.  KidCards also offers Holiday, Christmas, and thank you card packages! Each book includes 20 cards.

Because this product inspires young ones to be creative, KidCards just won a 2009 iParenting Media Excellent Products Award in the Books Category!  Lily would give it her own award if she could!  She played with this for a very long time and wanted to create as many cards as possible.  Here she is with the card she made for her best friend, Abby.

  2. Oooh that a tuffie. I have two little ones that love to color. One does alot better job with freehand. I suppose I would go with number one.

  3. Oh my goodness how cute are these. Lily was so excited to hand her cards out on Mother’s Day. I brought her Great-grandmother hers in the nursing home and I think she was just as excited! It’s proudly displayed in her room too. Love Mom/Granny Di

  4. I would choose Volume 1, Coloring Cards. My granddaughters are 3 and 4-1/2 years old and love to color and the older one is writing her name now, so they would love these kidcards:)

  6. At KidCards, I’d choose Volume Two. The frames are great! The inventor, Melissa, came up with that volume as her daughter grew and wanted more room for creativity.
