Grobag Egg by Keen: Review and Giveaway

Why is it that every single time Summer rolls around, my air conditioning acts up?  Here in South Louisiana, air conditioning is not a luxury, it is a necessity!  We have had the repairman come look at our unit multiple times and they can’t find anything wrong with it.   Fortunately, the air conditioning is cooling most of the house properly, but Lily’s room is a sauna!  I just know that something is not working the way it should and Lily has GOT to be hot at night!

I received a Grobag Egg from Keen Distribution to review and I knew immediately I was going to test it in Lily’s room.  From the website:

The grobag® egg™ color changing digital room thermometer is another clever innovation from the people who brought you grobag® baby sleeping bags.

Room temperature is vital in creating a safe sleeping environment for your baby and should be maintained at 61-67°F to help reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

The grobag® egg™ glows yellow if the room temperature is within recommended guidelines (61-67°F). If the room temperature is outside this range, the grobag® egg™ acts as a visual reminder for you to take action to cool or heat the room, or to adjust the baby’s bedding or clothing.”

I think this is such a great product to help ease the minds of new parents.  I know when my girls were little, I was so concerned that they would overheat in their swaddle blanket!  But now that they are older, I still have those same concerns and was so happy to have the Grobag Egg to confirm my suspicions.

After reading how to use the grobag, and setting up the product, the egg changed to red almost immediately….complete with a little frowny face.  I knew we had to take action to cool off her room!  I brought in an extra fan and changed her blanket to something more lightweight.

I will be showing this picture to the air condition service man when he comes out AGAIN next week!  Our A/C was set on 72 degrees!

  1. I would love to try the Grobag egg. We have our place facing south. The north side is always cooler than the south end. It’s hard sometimes to tell whether or not the furnace needs turning up, etc. Our bedrooms are on the north side too (ours and the girls)

  2. I would like to have the time out pad. I was wondering if they make an adult size one for my husband.

  3. These are a great idea! Our a/c acts up a lot too, and I always worry about how warm the bedrooms really are.

I’d love to try the Time Out Pad too.

  4. The Pop Pals…oh yes, this is a useful product I’d like and probably will get next week. No mess..Yeah

  5. The Timeout Pad is something I need for Kelsie and her terrible twos right now! Lots of great products!

  6. I like the Time out pad! We’re heading into the troublesome 2’s and I’m sure this would come in handy!
    Thanks for the entry

  7. I’d like to try the Pop Pals. I usually have to wrap a paper towels around the ice pops for the kids so their fingers don’t freeze. Thanks!

  9. I live in a mobile home in tennessee I know what you mean when you are talking about the heat. And I am in need of the mommy hook.
