Review and Giveaway: Coconut Groove

One of my favorite things to review are new children’s music CDs.  I love to play the songs and watch how my girls react.  It is always so much fun to see how their little minds interpret the music and watch how it makes them move….or in this case, GROOVE!

innickoftime

We were sent a copy of Coconut Groove by Nick Deysher.  This CD, inspired by the lush tropics of Nick’s backyard, blends a variety of styles and genres including rock, pop, funk, blues and jazz.  The album has 13 tracks with songs ranging from “Don’t be a rude Boy” to the award winning “The Dinosaur Song.”

One of the things I liked about this album is several interludes are included where Nick plays guessing games with his listeners.  I found that it kept Lily engaged because she was trying to find out the answers to the questions during the song.  Musically, it is more laid back and mellow than some other CD’s we have previewed, but it still got Lily up and moving, especially her favorite song, “Coconut Groove.”

Want the chance to groove?  Nick has generously offered one reader their very own copy of Coconut Groove!

  1. It’s fun to see a child’s repsonce to the songs so the video of your daughter dancing to the songs is a great idea. I like the performer’s idea of playing guessing games with his listeners. It sounds like it worked for your child.

  2. My kids loved the Dinosaur Song — no big surprise I guess since they are both really big into dinosaurs!

  3. We listened an my grandson also picked the Otter Song, mmmmmm,I let him choose,so that was the one he liked best, thanks
