Giveaway: Kolobags

If you follow my blog, you have probably read that I will be attending BlogHer ’09 in July! I am very excited about attending the classes, seminars, networking functions, and of course meeting new friends.

As I prepare for my trip, I realized that I do not own a laptop case! Of course, my laptop MUST accompany me to BlogHer, so I will definitely need a way to transport it safely (and fashionably!). While doing a few Internet searches for THE perfect bag, I ran across a great company specializing in laptop bags, Kolobags.
A little about Kolobags from their website:

Since its opening in Fall 2004, Kolobags has offered an ever-changing selection of top-of-the-line designs, all hand-selected from the latest styles emerging from around the world.

Kolobags carries absolutely gorgeous laptop messenger bags and laptop backpacks, but I think my favorite is this laptop tote:

Let me start by taking care of some business: Vickie won the Tyson coupons from last week! Please email me at notsoblog@gmail.com! CONGRATS!

All these birthdays are KILLING me! Aubrie’s party is on Sunday, so once the last piece of cake is gone, I am getting back on the weight-loss bandwagon. Really. I mean it. If you could only see the dance costume I have to wear for pictures at the end of March, you would realize the desperation! LOL!

Task of the week: Find me an inspirational quote! It doesn’t HAVE to be weight loss related, just something that inspires you and keeps you motivated. Also, make sure you are BLOGGING about your goals and LINKING back to my site.

**Please note: My URL has changed! Please link to http://www.thenotsoblog.com

Next week, come back and tell me about your success! Sign the Shrinky Linky for a chance to win a coupon for a FREE box of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canister!

Review and Giveaway: Funky Kidz Music

“Mommy, watch me dance!” Lily is quite the performer these days. She is taking both dance and cheerleading classes, so I think she has rhythm flowing through her veins! So, music reviews are always a favorite in my house!
We were fortunate enough to receive 2 new CDs to test out! The first was “Funky Kidz” from Executive Producer, Lauren Busch Singer (and her 9 year old son, Jake!). Being a New Orleans native, this compilation CD featuring 12 of the area’s finest artists was of particular interest to me! The twelve tracks include funked up covers of classic kids songs such as Zip a Dee Doo Dah, Yellow Submarine and one of my favorites, This Little Light of Mine.

This CD was a total HIT! Lily danced to the entire album and completely wore herself out before bedtime (a definite plus! LOL!). Check out her funky moves as she does the Hokey Pokey!

The second CD was entitled, “American Heroes #3″ by Jonathan Sprout, a NAPPA and Parent Choice award-winning artist. This CD includes lively songs about some of America’s finest historical figures such as George Washington Carver, Pocahontas, Thomas Jefferson and more!
My husband is a History teacher, so I gave him this CD to review. He was very excited about incorporating these songs into his lesson plans and was convinced it would be an excellent learning tool in his classroom. What a great way to make learning FUN!

Want to get Funky with some new CD’s?? One lucky winner will receive a copy of EACH CD!

How to enter:
1. Visit Funky Kidz, listen to a few songs and let me know which is your favorite!

Review and Giveaway: Three Lollies

There is one thing I dislike more than anything: nausea. When I became pregnant with my first daughter, I wasn’t scared of the weight gain, the stretch marks or the labor. I was terrified of morning sickness!

During the first trimester, I was armed with a desk full of safe remedies at work including crackers, tea, ginger snaps and of course, Preggie Pops!
Three Lollies answers the question, “What are Preggie Pops?” on their website:

“Preggie Pops are naturally flavored and specially formulated lollipops made for pregnant women. For generations, women have sought out certain natural therapies to ease morning sickness. As healthcare professionals, we have developed a solution: convenient, delicious, high quality and all natural lollipops. Preggie Pops offer relief via a combination of essential oils, aromatherapy and our unique delivery system. In addition, our Preggie Pops alleviate dry mouth, provide quick calories and energy during labor, and are an overall soothing and comforting way to address the needs of pregnant women. Preggie Pops are also drug free and healthcare provider recommended.

Preggie Pops come in a variety of flavors because each person’s queasiness responds to something different. My personal favorite was the Sour Fruit Preggie Pop Drops. Same great remedy as the pop, but without the stick! Even though I am no longer pregnant, the Preggie Pop Drop samples came in handy recently. I have been on some antibiotics for that lovely eye infection, and they were making me slightly nauseous. The drops helped sooth my tummy instantly! Did you know that Three Lollies also carries Queasy Pops for Kids? One box contains 7 pops in natural flavors such as Peppermint, Cinnamon, Natural Cola, Natural Green Apple, Sour Raspberry, Sour Lemon, and Papaya. These pops are especially good for motion sickness. Grab some for those long summer vacation road trips!

And right now, Three Lollies is selling a Queasy Drops Pink variety in the Sour Raspberry flavor. A portion of the proceeds for these limited edition drops will benefit the STOP CANCER Marni Fund for breast cancer research. What a wonderful charity to support!

Are you feeling queasy? Need a Pop or a Drop? I have one pack of Preggie Pop Drops (Sour Fruit), Preggie Pops, and Queasy Pops Kids to giveaway to one lucky reader!

How to win:
1. Head over to Three Lollies and tell me what your favorite flavor would be!

Additional entries (provide each entry as a separate comment):
1. Blog about this giveaway on link back to www.thenotsoblog.com
2. Favorite me in Technorati.
3. Follow me on Twitter (BridgetteLA) or tweet this giveaway.

Review: PakNak

Growing up in the Catholic school system, I wore school uniforms for 13 years of my life! It was pretty difficult to express your individuality when you had to wear a plaid skirt, white blouse and gray cardigan every single day. Most kids used their school bags, lunchboxes and notebooks to show off their creativity. I would have LOVED the products at PakNak to decorate my stuff!
What exactly is a PakNak? The website explains, “PakNaks are fun soft rubbery 3-D decorations for kids (and adults too!) to personalize all of their stuff. Backpacks, lunchbags, headbands, computer bags, household items, the list is only limited by your imagination.”

How much fun would it be to take notes in this notebook??

Each PakNak uses a super adhesive strip to fasten a customized velcro circle to whatever you choose. Because the decoration is adhered with velcro, PakNaks are interchangable allowing for an unlimited numer of possibilities! Check out the how-to video here.

PakNak was nice enough to send us three samples: Mona, Martin and Robert. Lily chose to use Mona to decorate her school lunchbox! It was so easy that she was able to adhere it herself.
Each PakNak has it’s own “personality!” They come with a little card letting you know their homeland, best friend, favorite food, etc. At PakNaks online, you can even play games at Nak-Land!

If your accessories need a makeover, spice it up with PakNaks!
