Review and Giveaway: Smart-e Cat CONTEST CLOSED

Are you looking for an educational and interactive toy for your toddler this Christmas?

The National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) has bestowed the prestigious Gold Seal to the new Smart-e-Bear! This award signifies that Smart-e-bear has been rigorously evaluated against stringent criteria by expert judges and family testers and that it stands out among hundreds of products from around the world.

Designed primarily for non-reading 2 to 6 year olds, Smart-e-bear encourages children to discover and explore through a library of literally thousands of award-winning songs, interactive stories, educational games and other content that parents can selectively purchase through the Internet and download to the toy with a super-easy USB connection. Measuring 13” tall, this plush pal utilizes electronics about the size of a deck of cards. The squeezable, adorable animals will enchant little ones with their “smarts” from hearing a song to reading a story to playing a game. There’s always something for kids to discover as the software changes and grows with the child’s interests from the nursery to kindergarten.

Smart-e-bear sent over one of his little friends, the Smart-e-cat for Lily to review! She was so excited to take her new pink friend out of the box. The great thing is that Smart-e-cat was ready to play right out of the box, so Lily didn’t have to wait to explore the features. The kitty played Simon-Says, sang several rockin’ songs, and told stories with educational facts. It even sings “Head and Shoulders” in Japanese!

I couldn’t wait to show Lily what else Smart-e-cat had in store for her! I read the instructions and was able to connect the kitty with no problems at all. The software began and I automatically had a TON of things to choose from. It is like iTunes for toddlers! There is also a “free dowloads” section!

Lily chose a new song and a new story and in an instant, we were done! I disconnected Smart-e-cat and Lily went happily on her way to cuddle and listen to the new story. It was a total HIT!

Another great feature is that Smart-e-cat has a headphone jack and also volume control! So, this plush interactive toy would make a great travel companion!

Want to win one of your own? Smart-e-bear has generously offered one lucky reader you choice of plush animals (bear, cat or dog)! What a great Christmas gift!

  15. It is hard to choose. I was having a hard time getting a few sample stories to load or I wasn’t looking in the right place. But, I would probably download the interactive stories. My daughter would love them. We always tell stories together by alternating sentences.

  23. We’d start with some music by Trout Fishing in America. I’m impressed — anything those guys get into just seems to work right for the little ones (and the parents too)!

  24. Sounds like this is fairly well worked out to allow interactive stories — except from their website it appears to still be too early to see what they have in mind. In the meantime, Simon Says and Musical Bears, either one, should get the giggles going!
