Giveaway: Meet the Joobles! CONTEST CLOSED

Joobles are precious playmates from Peru where artisans have hand crafted a menagerie of animals under fair trade conditions, providing work and hope to hundreds of rural and urban Peruvians. That’s why their tagline is Responsible, Sustainable, Adorable™. Each incredibly soft animal is made with eco-friendly dyes and organic cotton grown in Peru. For parents hunting for eco-friendly toys, all of the Joobles are made with cotton grown without the use of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or other chemicals. Eliminating these chemicals is not only better for baby, but also for workers and for the environment.

There are 9 Joobles filled with personality and promise: Bella the Bunny, Buzzy Bug, Calley the Cat, Fair Bear, Icy the Penguin, Jiffy the Giraffe, Mel the Monkey, Mooey Cow, and Pip the Dog. Each Jooble retails for just $29 each!

  1. You know how I feel about this :). Fair trade is so important because people should expect to work in good working conditions and be paid fairly for their efforts.

  2. It’s hard to believe fair trade clothing has lagged in the US. Of course UK surpasses us. Fair trade needs to be made worldwide. Why can’t more people be pro-higher wages? All companies should realize that it makes for a better working environment.

  3. Fair trade is very important, everyone deserves to be paid fair for their hard work 🙂

I love the toy so cute 🙂

You always have great reviews and giveaways!
    Hope you have wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

  4. Fair trade is important because every person deserves to be paid a living wage. I wish more people would pay attention to it.

    I love the little penguin!

  5. It makes things fair to everyone. It makes working conditions better and everyone gets paid fairly.

  6. Fair trade respects the workers in developing countries by paying them a living wage and not exploiting their labor!

    Thanks

  7. because paying workers fair wages (and having work regulations) is important to protect children and adults from being abused.

  8. fair trade is good because it allows works to live a comfortable life. it gives them a chance to reach above the poverty level and provide for themselves and their family.

  9. I did visit the Fair Indigo website and looked around, although I didn’t need to read about Fair Trade. I’m a big supporter of buying fairly traded items. I cringe when I think about wearing or using something that someone — perhaps a child — created under poor working conditions for a salary that barely keeps body and soul together. Plus, fairly traded products, such as chocolate and coffee, often have ecologically sound practices behind them. Don’t mean to rant; this is a subject I care a lot about.

  10. Fair Trade is important because everyone deserves fair wages and good employment opportunities.

  11. Fair trade is important to support the workers in all cultures instead of simply slapping tariffs on slave labor items.

  12. wow i love to try and win this and well i think thay are all realy cute and any one of them would do for me thanks

  13. It is important that people are payed a fair price for work. I know my husband has been taken advantage of many times as a carpenter, so I can’t even imagine what other countries do.

  14. This is a wonderful way to provide a way for mothers around the globe to earn money to care for their families and improve their lives.

  15. We need to remember that we’re citizens of the world and should respect the rights of others to receive a fair wage for their work.

  16. Fair trade is important from a human rights perspective because people all over the world deserve to be rightfully compensated for the work that they do.

  17. Wish I could be a little original in my response, but I agree with the comments already made. Everyone should be paid fair wages and be treated properly, that is the bottom line

  18. Fair trade is very important to make sure that people all over the world are paid a fair amount for their work. This would also help improve living as well as working conditions.

  19. Fair trade is important because when you work the hours you should get something in return. Very helpful and beneficial for everyone.

  20. Fair trade is important because you are paying workers what they deserve for their labor. That is why it is called “fair” trade, because it is just that.

  21. ON a personal note….fair trade is important because what goes around comes around. If you don’t pay enough for your products…..it WILL come back to haunt you. Fair work deserves fair pay. If items sell for a certain amount, the workers should be making a fair percentage of the asking price.

I am very glad to see this issue getting some attention. This is a very important cause…kudos to this site for spotlighting it!!

(And aren’t those animals adorable, worth every penny of their asking price!)

  22. Fair trade is very important, everyone deserves to be paid fair for their hard work 🙂 ty for the awesome giveaway and entry!:)

  23. Fair trade helps marginalized producers and workers move from a position of vulnerability to one of security and economic self-sufficiency.

  24. Christina – xristya@rock.com – Fair Trade is important because it is dedicated to giving women fair wages, not minimum wage (which doesn’t even always happen in America!). I try to attend all the Fair Trade Fairs that crop up around the Xmas holidays in my city, and hope that others will also.

  25. Fair Trade raises the standards of living for these families and offers a comprehensive development of their communities. It offers true change, and not charity.

  26. “Fair trade is a rapidly growing movement dedicated to paying workers fair wages rather than minimum ones”. Like this concept as people are paid on merit what they are worth and what they work for rather than a standard rate for everyone. Encourages a strong work ethic something we often lack with minimum wage employees. rosans4@comcast.net

  27. Workers are paid and treated fairly for a hard day’s work – that’s what fair trade is all about. Thanks for the great giveaway!
